I know this relates to most people when it comes to ending a romantic relationship but this song brought me to tears thinking about who I was before I was diagnosed with cancer. The last 2 years going through chemo, losing all my hair, having a double mastectomy, and so many others things that changed the person I used to be the lyrics to this song hit me in a different way. Almost like I had to say goodbye to the person I was and grieve her. I am now cancer free but at times I feel so lost trying to figure out who I am not while sometimes missing who I used to be.

Many years after a breakup from a long relationship, this lyrics made me cry...because it explains exactly what I was feeling when I had to make the decision and at the time, I couldnt explain it better. I loved him, but we were worlds apart, already too hurt by each other. To this day, I truly feel it was the right decision, even if I haven't found so far companionship like that relationship.

My younger brother committed suicide last weekend by overdosing on something. He was found with headphones on, presumably listening to something. This is his youtube account. He made a playlist containing 6 songs that was edited the day he passed. This is one of the 6 songs. With the method he used, he was dead after about 30 minutes, probably unconscious around 12 minutes. I like to think that it was peaceful for him with his music on. Our friendship wasn't working, and i'm glad that she was strong enough to tell me what i already knew, our friendship had ended a long ago, but i couldn't admit that, i couldn't. We were too different, but she's still in my heart. I love to listen to this song even if it hurts and makes me cry, because it makes me remember that we have done our best and to be strong as she was. Sometimes, the greatest act of love is leaving, even if it's difficult. This is such a personal and relatable song. I relate to this song so much when I listen to because I believe it perfectly captures the thoughts and feelings of my ex girlfriend who left me nearly 8 months ago. We were together for 5 years. She was my first and only love. She broke up with me in April. It destroyed me. I tried to accept it at first but I couldn't, especially once I learned that immediately after leaving me, she was seeing her "best friend" she'd been talking to every night for many months before breaking up with me. She lived with me for 3 weeks after the break up before physically leaving. One of the last nights she was here, I basically begged her to try to work things out with me. She looked down, put her hands on her head, and asked me, "Why are you doing this?" I said, "Why am I doing what... asking you to stay when I know you won't?" She shook her head yes. That was one of the most devastating moments of my life. When I hear the line, "I'm trying to be brave, stop asking me to stay," that is the moment I think of. Almost 8 months later and I am still in agony. Everyone said it would get easier, and it didn't. I knew it wouldn't. I love her so much and I can't live without her. I didn't and couldn't make her happy by being the man she needs. I hope the man she left me for gives that to her. I think she did the right thing by ending it. I left my ex girlfriend for my peace and sanity bcos I was the only one who kept trying to work our relationship after she got into military. I was crying every night,I let myself feel the pain and when she came back for the weekend that's when I decided to end our relationship. She said she love me but I can't feel it anymore.It was my very first time that I was the one ended up the relationship bcos I don't like the feeling of leaving someone,I'd rather be left out than leaving but I just couldn't take the pain anymore I still love her though. I wish her the best in life and I hope she found the happiness that she deserve.

I ended the relationship with my first love after four years of being together in May 2020, simply because it was killing both of us. My mental health was so bad, I had so much healing I needed to do on my own and had to let him go in order to do that. Over a year later, he still has my heart, but he doesn’t want me anymore. As someone with a lot of abuse/emotional trauma from a parent this song is the perfect description of what it feels like to have to emorionally/physically let go of that parent because of how much they have hurt you and having to deal the guilt pain of doing so because you love them so much even though they put you through hell and if you keep sticking with them you'll just be hurt all over again.
