Welcome to Band-Maid! The best hard rock band I have heard in my 58 years on this planet. They don't stick to any one genre and often mix genres in songs. They are extremely diverse and have an extensive back catalogue featuring Punk, Pop-Punk, Hard-Rock, Classic Rock, Metal, Prog, Blues, Jazz, Groove, Rap etc. From face melting 220 bpm punk-prog to ballads, instrumentals to acoustics they do it all. They can make you headbang, they can make you pogo, they can make you cry like a baby. They are also five of the nicest people in music, without a shred of ego. They are funny and fun and world class musicians to boot. They are currently into their 11th year with the original line up. Band-Maid and Babymetal have absolutely nothing in common apart from the country they were born in. Neither was influenced by the other. Band-Maid are a band with full creative control, Babymetal are three singers and dancers, doing what they are told. A lot of Band-Maid video's have embedded close-captions in English put there by the band. Btw, Miku the rhythm guitarist (red rose) formed the band. She had the idea of Band-Maid after working as a maid in Japanese maid cafe's. Her idea is a concept called "The Gap" - that is what you see (cute maids) is NOT what you get (Hard Rock/Punk/Metal). They take the maid café concept literally. They call their concerts "servings" and their fans "Masters and Princesses". Oh, and Miku is an 810 year old small pigeon. Welcome to the pigeon hole Po!

Congratulations, you have now discovered and reacted to the BEST damned rock band out there. These five petite young Japanese females have been together for over a decade and have recorded over 130 rocks songs incorporating just about every genre out there in their music We Maidiacs (that's what we call ourselves) now call their sound Band-Maid Music. No disrespect to BabyMetal, but Band-Maid play their own instruments as well as sing the songs they write and record. The maid outfits are what they call the Gap. Second Vocalist & Rhythm Guitarist, Miku, used to work in a Maid Cafe. She won an Idol Competition, but after doing that a while she wanted to follow her dream and form a band of hard rocking maids. Basically Miku found Kanami through her online guitar videos. Kanami had worked with Akane before, and asked her to join. They asked if she knew any bassists and Akane had gone to the Tokyo School of Music with MISA. When Miku decided to add a lead singer they found Saiki through their agency. So the band formed organically. BabyMetal was a Label Vehicle for SuMetal. You can get a lot of the story from Ohrenji's videos on them.

They are rock and roll guardian angels and the best hard rock band on this planet🤘Keep an eye on them!!

It is not important what you like or dislike, it is enough that you could comment on what you feel about BAND-MAID. When reacting to someone artist, it is better not to compare them with other artists, not only Baby Metal. Also, remember that when you speak out on KZfaq, you are speaking in a public forum, not on a private social networking site. Under normal circumstances, even if you dislike BAND-MAID, I don't think there are any fans to blame. Enjoy your favorite music.

Best rock band on the planet. If you really want to check them out watch HATE? live from Yokohama Arena 2023. They're better live, believe it or not. You stopped on Miku, rhythm guitar, backup vocalist and lyricist. She founded the band quite a while ago now. There is a set of videos on KZfaq about each member of the band and their individual journeys to this point. They're very illuminating.

Thank you for your reaction. Baby Metal is born out of the idea of Kawaii metal which was a new concept at the time. I like Baby Metal but I think I would prefer to see them live, yet a few songs have made it to my playlists. Band Maid is simply doing Band Maid things. The blend of rock, metal, punk, pop and so much more is born out of very different ideas. They continue to develop as so do I as a maidiac when I listen to their music. The only people that link Babymetal and Band-Maid together are people who never listened to both of them. I'm not bad mouthing Babymetal or Band-Maid. Babymetal is much more manufactured and controlled than Band-Maid. However, Band-Maid had management and support before they were even formed because Miku was connected to it. People unfamiliar with the band just assume Band-Maid was put together the same way Babymetal was. One thing for certain Band-Maid does not consider themselves an idol group (nor should they). They both have two very different origins, stylizes of music and goals. None of this makes one band more legit than the other.

When BAND-MAID came out with a new single a number of years ago, Babymetal's band members (the KAMI Band) were there to help promote that single. And when Babymetal's guitarist Mikio Fujioka passed away from a tragic accident in 2018, BAND-MAID members were heart broken and posted their support for Babymetal and Fujioka-san's family. In 2022, Genshin Impact produced a concert that featured many talented musicians from Asia, Europe and North America including members from the Kami Band and BAND-MAID.
