Two or three days a week, Singaporean Desmond Ng crosses the Causeway to inspect the factory located in Senai, Johor. Such days are not unfamiliar to him. Twenty-seven years ago, he did the opposite of many current commuters: he settled in Johor Bahru and commuted daily to Singapore for work. Although he now resides in Singapore again, the memories of those days are still vivid in his mind.
