Boing Boing's Xeni Jardin speaks with John Cusack and Elizabeth Banks, the stars of “Love and Mercy,” a film about the life, love, and musical genius of the Beach Boys' Brian Wilson. The movie stars Paul Dano as a young Wilson, John Cusack as an older Wilson navigating mental illness and surviving a history of family alcoholism and abuse. Elizabeth Banks plays Melinda Ledbetter, who helps the older Wilson escape from an abusive relationship with a controlling therapist played by Paul Giamatti.
Directed by Bill Pohlad with a score by Atticus Ross, “Love and Mercy” opens in theaters around the US on Friday, June 5, 2015: www.loveandmercyfilm.com

I love how Cusack is proper into the music and knows his stuff

Hopefully it's many many years down the road but look for a Brian Wilson postage stamp.

Hopefully, they come up with an actor that looks more like Brian Wilson. This film is produced well but is tainted by the fact that John Cusack bears no resemblance to Brian Wilson - both in physical appearance and manor.
