This is a pretty big request for this band, and I was happy to do it! It is a bit exhausting to listen to...I prefer a little more groove in my metal, but it is impressive!

Hey Ryan, great reaction my man! I like that you find something positive to say even if you’re iffy on whether you like it or not. I appreciate your insight. Let me be straight with you for a minute. I was right there with you. I didn’t quite “get” the appeal of the high-adrenaline, never-stop pace of the music. It is an intense cacophony of sound that mimics organized chaos. I was/am a hard rock fan/musician myself. The first time hearing these girls impressed me but I felt like something was missing. However, for some reason I just couldn’t put them down. I kept coming back. And now, I own merch upon merch and even have signed memorabilia from these ladies. I don’t want to play this type of music, but I just can’t get enough of their material for my ear-holes. They are the most positive metalheads I’ve witnessed. Tell you what, give their other songs a try and be open to their diversity since I know you love it when a band can successfully employ that type of skill. For example: Edge of the World from the same show is a progressive ballad that starts very slow with piano and ends on an anthemic note. Swan Song w/ Piano Etude, a thrashy-based ballad with a beautiful message. Strongly showcases The dark-haired guitarist’s (Miyako) abilities on both guitar and piano. She is also a classically trained concert-level pianist. For something literally right from your roots, check out Dancing with the Devil from the same show. Very hard rock /early metal feel. Wonderfully showcases the singer’s (Asami) R&B roots plus a more groove guitar track. For something more fun, check out Raise Some Hell. It’s a self-hype song that is just fun energy. Break the Wall has a Metallica-esque feel. And if you want to comeback to “boring” dual harmony leads on guitar, watch We the United. The girls never stop. It’s their last song of the show and just appreciate how happy everyone is. They love what they do and it is infectious. I could honestly name a reason for you to check out each song, but I don’t know any this novel to deter you from some good listening. Trust all of us when we say you will find yourself bitten by the Wolfpack before long. Just have fun with it.

LOVEBITES - Holy War lyrics: Look at those black clouds, it’s going to rain blood People live in fear, covered in mud Singing oh Gloria to change the prophecy We are the metal warriors Fighting the darkness for sisters There is a thousand, a thousand of evils Hush, do not wake up Satan’s devils Singing Hallelujah to save our majesty We are the metal warriors Fighting the darkness for brothers Shining blade and burning heart Into the Gates of Hell we march Immortal soul, let there be light Into the Eye of Heaven Eagles at a holy war Fly higher than the sun We are one for all and all for one forevermore Kingdom of Heaven, never shall we fall Reincarnation, wait for your call Singing oh, Gloria to change the prophecy We are the metal warriors Fighting the darkness for sisters Morning star and dying moon Into the Gates of Hell we march Mighty soul, let there be hope Into the Eye of Heaven Eagles at a holy war Fly higher than the sun Stand up in the name of the God of heavy metal What do we live for?What do we fight for, tonight? But the world is beautiful, worth fighting for Only have one thing on our mind Facing the fate, holy war Singing Hallelujah to save our majesty We are the metal warriors Fighting the darkness for brothers Shining blade and burning heart Into the Gates of Hell we march Immortal soul, let there be light Into the Eye of Heaven Eagles at a holy war Fly higher than the sun We are one for all and for one forevermore What do we live for?What do we fight for, tonight? Every one of LOVEBITES 45+ songs is different from the others, but nearly all have individual guitar solos followed by a guitar-harmony duet, those few have individual solos but no duet, while one, "We The United" has all guitar parts played in unison/harmony to put Unity on vivid display, and on "Signs of Deliverance" they play unison/harmony overhand tapping. For an uplifting, encouraging theme, "Rising" kzfaq.info/get/bejne/j8Wapcur38nZgok.html Same show, with lyric-subtitles embedded.

With Lovebites, having 2 lead guitarist in a band… you’re gonna get the long solo’s and harmony dual from them. It’s how J-metal do in today’s music scene. It may be boring or too long… but you gotta appreciate the talent level and the synchronization from both of these Amazing guitarists when playing together in a song. It’s the Lovebites way and you don’t see that often in other metal bands outside of Japan/Europe.

I will continue to recommend Edge Of The World to you. It starts of slow and builds beautifully and has a very good solo from Miyako in it. If you react to Swan Song, use a link that includes the piano Etude before the song. While the other ladies can play piano also, Miyako is on another level. Piano is her first and best instrument.

I was never much of a metal fan and I think a lot of it had to do with the darker themes. And to be honest I don't think I would want to listen to a straight hour of Lovebites BUT, these women are phenomenal and I love this song. First of all they are dressed like they are going to the prom and are not afraid of being feminine women which is certainly a contrast to other women in this genre. I love watching Asami prance around on the stage like a princess. Their lyrics are certainly more uplifting than is typically heard in this genre but most of all their talent is off the charts. As for music, are not good as women, they are phenomenal as musicians.

I really like the riffs in this song and the speed. However, now that I have listened to it, oh probably at least 100 times, I can see how a few reactors think the solo parts and/or the verses are maybe a wee bit too long. The first two verses are really long, and the base pattern doesn't change much overall so it can sound a bit repetitive. It is still an awesome song and one of their best. I have it in their top 20 songs, but when you compare it to all their others you can see how much of it is repetitive and is probably why he started to think it was "boring". But Lovebites has so much variety in their repertoire that all their songs are different.

The effect you are talking about is synesthesia, a crossing of senses, which can include "seeing" sounds. I occasionally get that too - without drugs! I also love Miyako's tone, and it also gets me in the gut. So, yes, this can be too relentless for some people. For a lot of Lovebites fans, I think part of the thrill is the same thing that makes us enjoy Olympic sports or action movies: It's adrenaline, and the problem is that after you get used to it, it's hard to come down.

Miyako is using all the right gear for modern metal tone. 6505+ tube amp. Fishman pickups. Lunastone overdrive pedals. Midori on the other hand... is using a digital amp modeler! Kemper. I do like her guitar tho. MiJ ESP Horizon-II. I know Midori is an endorsed artist for Kemper, which is awesome, but I would love to see Midori switch her amp to a ENGL Fireball 100 with a Boss SD-1 in front of it. Her Kemper tones are not bad at all, but playing on "the real thing" is always better. Maybe later down the road... she will run a different rig. Most pro artists jump around with different gear setups throughout their careers. Midori will most likely do the same thing. It will be fun to see what she decides to run next! ( I hope she goes ENGL or EVH! )

@@TheCyberMantis As for Miyako is using the the Amp distortion and uses the Lunastone overdrive only for tone adjustments as she stated in an interview, A Boss ES 8 switcher with effects loop , she not press the Pedals to switch them on she use the Boss for that and the effect loop from the same thing for Delay and Wah Pedal. This switcher is a real bummer when you have an Amp with no effects loop, and a real good thing is the delay did not stop when you switch it off, it is fading out .You recommend an ENGL fireball I would recommend an ENGL Powerball to Midori , or let yourself build an custom amp from ENGL.

Yeah, I can respect Lovebite's technical abilities. Especially the 2 lead guitars. But yeah, they are very iron Maiden-y , and I've never really liked Iron Maiden. Great guitars, Great, drums, Great bass, Great vocals...... But they just don't do it for me. A guy in the band-maid fan club said it really well a while back.: "Comparing Band-maid to Lovebites is like comparing Rush to Maiden back in the day." Lovebites are more technically gifted, and a lot of musicians might like that.... But for me, Band maid are no slouch either, and I much prefer their songwriting skills and vocal arrangements. I like the maids, but I won't start a war with a lovebites fan, caus in the end, we're both right :)

@@ChrisPage68 sorry but yes they are if subtitles included. Otherwise I enjoy the music but as a singer don't expect to strain to understand lyrics. I'm sure if I listened several times I would get them but certainly not with one listen.

If you are looking for "Swan Song," you must look for the title "【LOVEBITES】MIYAKO Piano Solo『 Revolutionary Etude』『Swan Song』 Live at Zepp DiverCity Tokyo 2020 ." Otherwise, you will end up watching the wrong video, so be careful.

I saw them in Japan some years ago, they are super skilled but in the end a little boring for two hours concert. The singer, in my opinion, is a little bit too baroque. Haruna in concert is really a nuclear-powered drummer. But everyone has their own tastes.
@shadowstar9261
@shadowstar9261 3 жыл бұрын
yeah depending on taste, for power metal listeners they are never boring.. I think the singer is unique and doesn't sound like mainstream anime style singer like scandal and band maid. But actually she can sing with anime style like this kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jLOFrJOh3brTmGg.html

@@shadowstar9261 That is one crazy comment. As much as I respect Haruna from Scandal as an artist, to equate her to Saiki from Band-Maid as a rock vocalist is ridiculous. Those two singers are almost nothing alike, other than being female and Japanese. Saiki a "mainstream anime style singer" ?? Jesus....

Wow, really you think the solo or the harmony solo's are boring, if this is true then Lovebites just isn't for you because all of their songs consist of a lot of solos and unison and harmony solos. Maybe you should just stick to the other boring band you like so much more and that is band maid just a mere suggestion, plus you make it so obvious. As you wrote you never heard any songs by Iron Maiden, they too are very similar on the solos same for Judas Priest

Look dude, I didn't say it was bad. I actually said I liked their individual solos. They are technical wizards but it's already become predictable. Solo, solo, harmonized solo...... harmonized solo There's a thousand youtubers that do it. I've just heard it over and over. Also: I've heard plenty of songs from Maiden, I just never got into them. Do you understand that? One thing I do not do is bullshit or try to placate a fanbase of any band. Look at my playlists, you can see what I listen to. I mention Band-Maid because that's what got me on this path. Once I reacted to them, people started saying "You have to check out Lovebites!" So I did. It's not a guarantee that I'm going to like every part of it. Don't watch me, I'm not here to impress anybody. I'm just sharing what I think in the moment. Can I ask why you think Band-Maid is boring? I explained my reasoning, it's only fair.

Vai hardly ever does harmony soloing. Vai is probably the most soulful shredder I've ever heard. It comes down to having too much of a good thing. Vai is in his own world. This type of music is boring to him, he was over it in his twenties.

Just watched a year after you put it out. About seeing music and not being able to describe. Have you heard good vocal coaches talk about music and especially singers. They describe it same way as Ryan does. Look at any of Julia's or Elizabeth the Charismatic Voice. Its all Colors and Shapes for vocal tones.
