As a connoisseur of metal you know when you strike Gold. In this case you struck Kryptonite. When you are on about your 5th or 6th reaction you will begin to understand why we are so devoted to this band. There is no weakness. No weak track. Please bear in mind that every other song with images (live or MV) has a different bassist who left over a year ago. The new bassist, Fami, is only 20 years old. But her bass playing is on a par with the other instruments, all of whom are at an average of ten years older. You’re really going to enjoy listening to what will almost inevitably become your favourite band.

After your "Break the Wall" and "The Awakening/The Hammer of Wrath" reactions, my last stop of the night. Forget genres of metal, and just listen to this song without comparing it to anything. I did that, and at this time, "Judgement Day" is my favorite song, period. Nice reaction, again 👍.

She never had lessons Midori the one on the left did had lessons. Btw they dont really have a lead guitar player they both pretty much are the lead guitar players. anyway those songs i recommend to you are really worth checking out. Thanks for coming back to them so quickly after your initial dose. Congratulations on finding best new metal band to come along in decades. In their first five years of existence, they put themselves on par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. They recently went on a year-and-a half hiatus while they searched for a new bassist. They announced the new bassist in October 2022 and dropped “Judgement Day” on December 22. Some background: They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and founder of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the great European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other groups. The four of them then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she was also trained in ballet). Miyako has composed a little more than half of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics, and cowrote the music for “Judgement Day” with Mao. In mid-2020, Miho left the band she had founded, for personal reasons. They recently announced their new bassist, Fami, who is a young phenom and herself a composer and multi-instrumentalist. The instrumentalists studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Helloween, Slayer etc. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and have created a sound that is fresh and cutting edge while paying tribute to the old masters. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance was that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash. Almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel (though she can also shred like crazy). Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. As another reviewer said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band."
