Fami is a fantastic addition…during the solo, especially during Midoris second turn, it‘s like she is swinging the whip and driving the ladies forward!

Just when you think Lovebites couldn't get any better, especially after losing an excellent bass player in Miho, they come back with a vengeance and kicked our asses with this song. Not only did they find a replacement for Miho but in Fami, they found a bass player that is in her own league. I think with Fami onboard, not only does it seem that Lovebites is about to take it to the next level, but I think she will complement Haruna's style of playing the drums much better. Haruna's tempo throughout the entire song along with Fami's bass playing is ferocious. I can't wait for the album to come out.

Lovebites 2.0 - leveled up. Asami's voice - better than ever. Haruna - her cymbal/bell work on this song is exquisite. Midori - paying fast and tight as ever. Miyako - said she worked on speed during hiatus, and the solo run showed it. Fami - IMO a better fit with Lovebites. She can keep the beat with Haruna, but, she can also sync up like a 3rd guitar player (solo run incredible). I've listened to this song countless times trying to convince myself it can't be my favorite Lovebites song because I love The Hammer of Wrath so very much. But, this song is so amazing.

What surprised me the most is LOVEBITES completely moved on from the in-the-pocket locked in with HARUNA style. FAMI is all over the place in the composition. Following ASAMI's vocal melodies in parts and then M&M riffs in others and then links up tight with HARUNA in others. HARUNA too is more dynamic accenting the melody now too. 🤘🐺🤘

You raised a very interesting point: each japanese band success BENEFITS the other bands - when Band-Maid does a very successfull US tour, it means it will be easier for Nemophila to sell tickets afterwards. With the success of Band-Maid and Nemophila, Lovebites' return will be even more triumphant that it would have been without them. It is high time for rabid fans to stop slander/maligning other bands and consider them as a movement, an entity that we should support as a whole.

Fami is currently 20 years old. She starts out and ends with tapping, but she does plucking, slapping and a little bit of popping throughout the song.

There is a whole lotta "Hold my beer" going on in this song. First off, this is Lovebites telling Babymetal and Band-Maid, "wait, hold my beer"... and this coming from someone who considers Babymetal the ultimate. Then you have the guitar solos starting with Midori, who tells the rest of the guitar world, "hold my beer. This is followed by Miyako telling Midori, "hold my beer". To which Midori responds back with, "nope, you hold my beer". Miyako gets in the last word with the final "hold my beer" of the guitar solos. Then out of nowhere, at the end of the song, Asami belts out the ultimate and final "hold my beer." That should be the name of this song. "It's Judgement Day, Hold My Beer".

From what I hear, they never really stop playing. They just practice and wrote songs for the new Album till the new Bass was picked. Then they brought Fam in added her to the songs and some input she had. Cannot wait for the U.S. Tour. Hopefully they will announce the tour dates soon.

Well you think they are ready for a return to Wacken? OMG this group is primed to storm the Main stage this time around. No plans yet for tours outside of Japan but the Summer festivals in Europe are a sure bet for some real exposure. Hoping for a Fall North American tour and if they end up in River Plate I not sure they wouldn't set off earthquake warnings world wide. So glad I reserved a spot in my short lived super star band bin ( Cream, Blind Faith, etc) and have to admit I was so wrong !!!

I also think it needs to be noted that whereas Lovebites does have a huge following with over 88K subscribers Fami is a KZfaq star with over 887K followers. That’s 10 times as many so I think she is bringing more exposure to Lovebites which is fantastic.

Fami is only 20 years old. Still in university but she is old enough to go out drinking with the band after a show. Even though Miyako and Asami probably won't be out too long after a show now. 🤭

Another Lovebites vid and another new favourite 😃 I took a look at Fami's youtube channel shortly after they announce she had been chosen and it looks like she is an extremely good bass player. She did a video explaining how she got chosen but she was so excited she broke YT's auto-translate and I couldn't watch further. If the other songs on their new album are on the same level, it will turn out to be their best album so far! I still hope there will be songs in which Fami's bass is even more prominent. Since you mentioned that you like songs with sinister and dark atmosphere, you should - at least in theory - love the album "Within the Veil" by Fear of God. The music is very dark, atmoshperic, with some very aggressive parts as well and the often multi-layered vocal performances by Dawn Crosby (who already died in 1996 at the age of 33 as a consequence of year-long alcohol abuse) are the most haunting I have ever heard - she really "lived" her songs.
