if you watch 'we the united' from this same concert you will see vocalist asami play piano for a bit. absolute killer tune - along with every other. such a professional group . they continually amaze me

Asami, the lead v, can play the piano as well. I believe Haruna (drums) can also play a bit. However, Miyako (lead g) on right is on a whole another level. She was classically trained as a concert pianist since age of 3. She has a BA in Music Education on piano (26 years of piano). Her first and primary instrument is piano, guitar is her 2nd instrument.

Some other folks beat me to it on the piano question, so I'll just say, Miyako-sensei is a true savant She picked up the guitar at 18 and can already smoke most of the big-name shredders, or play a moody, bluesy solo, all in the same concert--as you just saw.

Yes , more Lovebites. You really should view the close captioned lyrics where available. They add a whole new dimension to their songs. Their lyrics are as deep as the music. Although Asami the vocalist speaks very good English, Singing in English is a more difficult proposition.

Miyako (guitartis with black hair on the right) is playing a Dean Icon with Fishman pick-ups. She also plays a Dean ML the same guitar that Dimebag Darrell of Pantera played.

What continues to amaze about Lovebites, is the speed and accuracy of their playing. When you add in the backing, there is not any room for error. I do not believe anything is corrected in post production for the DVD apart from having to balance the individual guitars, bass, vocal and drums, to be suitable to listen to away from the individual sound balance for each venue. It seems to be a Japanese, speciality as BabyMetal, use huge amounts of backing for their live shows and to a much lesser extent, Band Maid.

Miayako plays most of the keyboard and piano playing. But, Asami and Midori can also play.

All the girls can play the piano. Miyako especially, is a classically trained pianist with the guitar being her second instrument. The only girl so far that isn’t involved with songwriting is Haruna but she said she updated her equipment recently to contribute more in songwriting in the near future. Midori was studying pharmacy (!) in an elite medical college before she decided to become a professional musician. Asami writes all of their lyrics and the compositions are divided usually between Miyako. Miho and lately Midori wrote 2 songs (Dancing with the Devil & Glory to the world ) in collaboration with Mao (an outside musician that’s probably a sixth member at this point), Asami wrote 2 songs (Paranoia & Winds of Transylvania) again with Mao. They are outstanding musicians all of them. In addition, Asami was an R&B/Soul/Jazz singer with zero knowledge about metal. Her first metal band and her first introduction to the metal world is Lovebites.

My complaint about Lovebites is that I am unable to understand what the singer is saying in English, which really defeats the purpose of her singing in English. They're probably better off singing Japanese mixed with English.
