The lady in question who shuffled from the piano to shred the guitar and then back to the piano is Miyako. She's a classically-trained pianist since the age of 3, then she picked up a guitar when she was 18, self-taught and like they say - the rest is history. In addition, she composed and arranged about 50% of Lovebites' discography of around 60 songs (including "Swan Song"). In short, she's a prodigy and a genius. Asami is the vocalist who sang R&B before joining Lovebites. She has a broad mid-to-high mezzo-soprano range and she can soar above Lovebites' very fast-paced and heavy riffs/licks with ease to make the tracks sound melodic. Therefore, she is ideal for Lovebites' genre of music which is a lot more more than just power metal. They play a seamless blend of power-speed/thrash/progressive/neoclassical metal. Miyako, the guitarist that also plays the piano is also the one that wrote this song. She was inspired by Chopin that why she played the Chopin bit as an intro. She's a musical prodigee that learned to play the piano at a very young age. She's classically trained on the piano but she taught herself how to play guitar by herself. She writes a lot of the music for Lovebites' songs but not all of it. I hope you'll do some more Lovebites on the channel. They've quickly became one of my favorite bands in the last couple years.

Miyako Watanabe is her name, affectionately known as "The Golden Touch" by the other band members. She is a virtuoso on both piano and guitar. This song is a masterpiece she wrote, which shows off her multiple talents. However, the other guitar player, Midori, is equally as talented and shreds the guitar like nobody's business. Asami, the vocalist, even throws in some of her ballet background in this, doing the dying swan right at the end as the camera fades from her and focuses on Miyako. Lovebites is phenomenal and loaded with talent. They won the 2018 Metal Hammer Golden Gods award for best new band. They recently had to replace the bass player when Miho, their founding member decided to leave in August 2021. Fami was hired in October 2022 and is featured on their new album released in February. Fami is a 20 year old phenom on bass. Haruna is the drummer and is ranked in the top 50 of Japanese drummers.

"Swan Song" ( lyrics - Asami / music - Miyako) from LOVEBITES third studio Album "Electric Pentagram" (2020). For many centuries (starting from Ancient Greece) there is a legend, according to which Swans, non-singing, "silent" birds, acquire a voice a few moments before death, and this dying singing of Swans is amazingly beautiful. "Etude" by F. Chopin and "Swan Song" are dedicated to the warriors who died in battle. Therefore, at the concert, "Etude" and "Swan Song" are played together. In an interview given after the release of the "Electric Pentagram" album, Asami (a former ballerina, studied classical ballet for about 16 years before becoming a singer) said that when she wrote the lyrics of the song, she was thinking about the famous ballet P.I. Tchaikovsky "Swan Lake" . During the performance of the song, Asami imitates the Swan (hand movements). And in the final part (piano Miyako), symbolizing the "death of the Swan", Asami depicts the dying Swan on stage. Because the camera at the end of the song is focused on Miyako playing the piano, Asami's "death of the Swan" was not captured on video. Undoubtedly the crowd was chiming in there toward the end, but it was a backing track. Crowds are never that good about being in time and in tune. Regarding their outfits, they once said in an interview that they wear them because they’re so tiny that they would be harder to see if they wore darker colors. Hell of a place to start with Lovebites! It's like jumping into the deep end of the pool! As good a place as any though, because everything they do is amazing. That was Miyako on piano (she is stunningly talented - shreds on guitar, is a classical pianist, composes a lot of their music). Asami is the lead singer. Haruna on drums. Miho on bass. The other guitarist is Midori. All ridiculously talented. Miho left the band a little over a year ago and now Fami is their bassist on their current tour and in their newest MVs. They wear all-white to show that metal doesn't have to be all dark and black, and it can have a positive message. Their lyrics are always positive or hopeful in some way. Lovebites chose to wear white to break away from the stereotypical black that most wear in metal music and felt wearing white dresses would help them stand out. Though image is important in the music industry, it's the music that makes a band. And as you heard, the music is insanely good. They are, to me, one of the most talented if not the most talented band in metal these days. They are all master musicians and songwriters who write great lyrics and have an amazing vocalist. Lovebites (stylized as LOVEBITES) is a Japanese power metal band, formed in 2016 by former Destrose members Miho and Haruna.
