It's funny as hell to most ppl who couldn't n wouldn't get it, I feel like single ppl in tune with themselves will kinda get it. I say good for her. Years ago I spent 4 times that amount to marry a complete jackass that I left within a year. If she'd have called it a "self affirmation ceremony", there wouldn't have been a word said about it. She's still hoping to find love with a partner... loving herself will help her to find a good person & not just settle for whoever comes along.

It is different, but I think it's pretty cool actually. I don't think she's a narcissist at all. At least she doesn't come off that way. There's a big difference between confidence and cockiness. I'm now a single, independent lady, I feel so safe now and I understand this completely and wish people weren't so nasty to her. I have been so broken to the point that I ended up in a psychiatric hospital. Now I'm spending so much time finding me, I've never been so happy. I request that if you judge this, I do understand but please try see it from my perspective, I had no confidence in myself and people that I really loved were really cruel to me.

People really wouldn't give it much thought to be honest. She's very pretty. I love her personality. It doesn't sound like she'll denie dating and marrying someone else if she finds the right person but until then she's committed to herself. Her marriage to herself is basically a commitment to herself saying no matter what she'll love herself regardless of what people feel about her. She even said she's dated before and has no problem getting men and she could get married tomorrow if she wanted to. Seem like her blind date went well. At first the guy was surprised when she told him she married herself but after she explained everything he loved it. But he never had like a super bad reaction. And his first reaction was she's beautiful. You can tell they are attracted to each other both personality and looks. I hope they'll continue to see each other and maybe get married in the future. It will be a interesting love story.

After watching this story, i 100%agree with her blind date. It would be fun, memorable, and very meaningful to have a self wedding like this. She has a very valid point. The wedding is about the bride. I would definitely do something like this without question. No matter how much it costs. It shows self worth and self love. And who cares what haters think or say. Glee did this, and I thought it was a pretty good idea then, and I still think it's a pretty good idea now. I think for some people it's an affirming part of their process of self healing or self discovering or self actualization. It's a symbolic act, and people who don't understand why some people might want to celebrate having a healthy relationship with themselves probably need some therapy.

Some people don’t even understand what self love is, how can this be a bad thing, if you have the money to spend on yourself for a wedding and the confidence to go through with it then power to you. I feel sorry and sad for the people who don’t love themself. People who think they need another person to love them in order to feel ok. Or people who don’t love their own body or who think they are less than others. You can love yourself and be a kind and compassionate person at the same time.
