Omer said, “Look at her. She does what no one else can. She even supports me in her sleep. She inspires me by simply being close to me.” Some words of great love & gratefulness from Omer. I got misty-eyed reading the closed captioning. One of the many traits of Defne that Omer loves. Omer is right - Defne does what no one else can. Not one among the women who supposedly love Omer can/will sleep on a work table like Defne.

It would have been better if they had given more attention to Defne's past and her abandonment issue. The audience would have been able to understand and relate to her character more with it. It's evident that the writer favored Omer's character more.

Omer loves Defne for her craziness, being spontaneous, no airs. All of women friends of Omer are workaholic, driven to succeed & are interested in Omer because he’s successful & rich. They’re NOT the kind of woman that Omer wants - one who he’ll find at home when he goes home. Defne is that woman - she has work, happy with it but NOT ambitious to have a successful career that will keep her from being home when Omer comes home.

You are right the groupies that are interested in Omer are pretentious. Defne had a very different upbringing from Omer and she has a kind heart and a great demeanor. Omer loves that about her.
