That statement and her space cadet persona makes it hard to take her seriously as a social commentator.

Interesting interview, but I am more interested in the instrumental versions of the songs in the background. Gives a whole new dimension to the songs. They are even more complex than I thought.

Haha. I love her. I thought, Oh the lyrics in Rattlesnake are some kind of metaphor about all these pseudo-philosophical meanderings about nature/self/technology, but then it's like oh no, she actually did all this shit. What a loon! A wonderful, beautiful loon!
@anneother62246 жыл бұрын
35TCK But if you keep listening after 3.00 she says that it is in fact a creation myth as well as a probably true story about a real life experience. Most of Annie's songs will be working on at least 2 levels. I don't think it is 'pseudo' anything. This is what a particularly free thinking intellectual sounds like. I love it too.

Scotty Howell Truly. This neural plasticity thing. A mind can be developed or restricted. An artistic, free-spirited person who manages to keep suitable company can, it seems, shape/have shaped a beautiful mind. And this is what it sounds like.

oh dear, is she playing a role or is she high? What a pseudo-spiritual bs. But she's a great artist. Let her music speak.
@tonyabb329 жыл бұрын
I totally disagree...I don't see that she is playing a role at all. Describing the genesis of these songs has to be quite difficult...I think this some really cool insight into what was going on in her head when she wrote these songs.
@EVH_9 жыл бұрын
She's just talking with words beyond a primary level and not explaining things one hundred percent but as she talks- you know, like a real person. You're just like what she was talking about with digital witness, pointlessly submitting your opinion on someone for some sort of social merit that you're not going to get.
@LfunkeyA8 жыл бұрын
+colaboytje what is pseudo about this? is everything you don't like or agree with 'pseudo'?
@colaboytje8 жыл бұрын
no
@anneother62246 жыл бұрын
colaboytje You know how sometimes it takes a while to get into music? But then you find you love it. Well I think if you hung with what she is saying for a while you might find it reveals things about the songs and life which bring a new level of meaning to you. All of these songs work as noise but I think there really is meaning and she is trying to help us understand it.
