The thought of playing this song in front of Keith Richards makes my palms sweat, idk how these guys were able to hold it together honestly

It probably helps that they’re the greatest band in history.

It helps that they've played the song about 100x more than the Stones have over the last 40 years - live or in practice. But your point is well taken - if that weren't in play, at all, Keith Richards wouldn't have done the intro like that! And Phish probably choose a different song.

Whoa are you serious? Lol I bet Keef himself would admit Trey plays circles around him.😂

It was rumored that Keith was Trey's sponsor for a period of time and if not they are neighbors in NYC, so prolly not as daunting as one would think🤷♂️

Not really a Phish fan but they knocked it out of the park, compared to the pedestrian covers by Keith Urban and Sheryl Crow. Only Green Day were comparable that week of Exile covers. They did Rip This Joint.

Sounds even better with horns and the legendary Sharon Jones on backup. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/r9iSl9eksbndYI0.html

There was some legendary musical horsepower in that room. Also, gotta love Front Row Freida dancing her ass of behind them.

Ripping lead by Trey - no doubt that impressed Richards. Probably made him miss Mick Taylor for a minute.

They are nowhere near a cover band - do they play some covers - yes but they have a huge catalogue. When they PLayed MSG for a "Bakers Dozen" they played 13 shows without repeating a single tune. THey have 15 Studio Albums of originals

@@jameskyler5441 Thanks. I've been seeing Henrietta and the Phish since Hampton 96. They are the best cover band around.

There's a tremendous difference between a mere cover band and a troupe of resurrection minstrels.

Totally. The Dead wrote their own songs, like Morning Dew, Me and My Uncle, Mama Tried, Big River, Viola Lee, El Paso, Peggy O, Knocking on Heaven’s Door, Not Fade Away etc etc etc
