It is the illiogastric or illioinguinal nerve that gets pinched. It originates from the spine, so you need to go see a sports chiropractor. Once those nerves are released, I recommend doing yoga. You'll stretch your psoas, oblique, hip flexor, and any adjoining muscles by doing natural movements. I'm a retired professional athlete, and this is what worked for me. Cheers

Wow, you just described the pain that laid me out for weeks. It was so bad that I was not able to get out of bed. The pain was in my back and right hip and pulling between hip and groin and trying to stand brought on pain like I’ve never felt before. Doc gave me pain killers which did nothing. After a week in hospital, I was given a cortisone injection in my back after the mri found a prolapsed disc.It’s been almost 2 years and the pain still comes back in a minor form but still scary. I’ll give the stretches a go first. The thought of using the ball worries me, in case i don’t do it right and the pain comes back. It’s a massive interruption to living your best life. If I bend the wrong way, it’s painful. I’ve had to put a hold on photography at shows. Take care of yourselves as best you can.

My problem is, particularly during the pandemic, I wasn’t even minimally physically active. I was afraid to go cycling, there were no festivals or outings, there wasn’t even work! So I sat down, every day, and just learned, all mental, no physical, no social activity. As soon as I started moving my body again, this happened. So I’m just working on this every day- weight loss and basic fitness. So much pain. The most important thing is what you’re describing, that it’s actually best to find that most painful area and concentrate on that, like pushing the blood out of a bad bruise so it doesn’t stop there. Get that fluid to move on before it hardens.

Thank you very informative. . I had total hip replacement 2 1/2 years ago. Recently I had a bladder infection and subsequently hav3 been suffering with back and iliacus, hip flexor, pocket pain. So much so that I can’t bend over or sit cross legged. Your videos are super helpful.

Wow doctor that's exactly where I'm having all my problems, I had four cages put into my back January 10th of this year and ever since I'm having a pain in my groin exactly where you showed my lower back and I left I am definitely going to try your ball stretching exercise thank you very much

Great video! Thank-you! 😊✌️ My inside right groin and lower right back have been in pain now for a couple of months and I’ve had to stop exercising! Before that, I was doing street rollerblading a few times a week for a number of months. I believe that my psoas muscle must’ve got super tight from blading. Tomorrow morning I am going for an ultra-sound on my groin and then Sunday I’m going to the hospital for an MRI on my lumbar…. Your video is telling me that these are two exact places where I could be experiencing pain due to a psoas muscle injury! Nobody had even mentioned this to me before!😯 I will look for your other video in exercising this muscle!👏👏

I felt popping in my groin area and lower back pain on the other side was scared for a second because it felt a pocket of air popping inside my groin area stretching really helped thought it was something serious for a second

While trying to perform this exercise I discovered that one could take the ball put it on the ground and place yourself on it with your hip (belly lying on the floor) and regulate the depth of the push with you own body weight 👍

Yup. Depends on your anatomy. For some, using body weight and facing the ground doesn't provide enough force to hit the right spots. Using the weight is an option I never considered.

Omg...ive been doing the tennis ball thing with my fist. As I'm sitting in hurts right on my groin/hip gristle when I raise my knee or as I'm lying on my back and raise my leg like "6 inches". Been swapping otc pain medication to assist on days I work. My lower back hurts also especially if I try to squat. If I stand up I feel like my first few steps are bent over until I tighten my abs as I walk to give my back enough support as I attempt to stand up straight. I'm going to start doing everything I can find out to attack this muscle and stretch to see if it helps. Thanks.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Did you try yet and did it fix the pain. Im trying right now but my left groin hurts and also when i walk. Yesterday my chiro put his elbow on my psoas and i felt better. But u dont know if twisting on chair to help feed my Mom injured it?

I've got lower disc issue from 20 years ago. Yesterday I was playing golf and in one swing I felt pain on my lower left back close to the hip. It later in the day went around to my groin as you indicate it would causing severe stabbing burning pain and some numbness around where the thigh meets the groin. Very painful when trying to get up out of bed.

I was lifting something heavy about 250 lbs and as I lifted that heavy object I either pinched a nerve or something because every time I sit on a chair for too long or exercise or don’t move too long my back hurts and it radiates down to my groin area to my left leg. Will this help? I also had scoliosis surgery when I was 14 and had a benign Sonoma surgery and this happened when I was getting up to move as well.

Its maddening how vague you are in exactly where to press. How about saying so many inches to the right or left of navel or down from navel then right or left so many inches. It all feels the same to me and I have intractable back pain that moves to groin. Had a hip replaced to get rid of groin and back pain and both are worse. I believe psoas at least part of issue, but please be more specific.

Hello and Thanks for Watching! These techniques should be performed “As Tolerated.” In other words, some discomfort may be experienced while performing them. However, pain should be avoided. These techniques are performed in order to relax/stretch/loosen tightened tissues. If you find yourself tensing/tightening up too much while performing these techniques, it may be too much. I did this but irriated it so much more that cant even lift leg in the slightist and constant pressure shsrp pain. Also felt a painful twinge that shoots from groin lower abdomen down inside leg so assumed its irritating or the swelling is affecting a nerve in there.

How iw this different than laying on your tummy and using perhaps a Franklin ball or something even a bit bigger to provide pressure? Which would be better?

Try both and feel the difference for yourself. One difference is that if you are supine, then you can flex the hip. With your fingers you should be able to feel the psoas contract. If you are prone you can't.

Can i use a massage gun instead or bigger softball? Tens unit? I cant stand straight up, this really doesn't allow me to stand,walk upright, But if i bend over the groin starts to spasm?? I went from walking 4miles/day to jus 10 steps and cant find a sleep positions at all

Hey thanks for this video. Ive tried this technique and as I move up to stomach toward the heart it can be quite painful and not so relaxing. I can feel pain emanating around to my lower back. I am very tight and do suffer from back pain which I'm am currently working through. Should I not do this technique? I found myself here after suffering hip/groin/testicular discomfort after riding a bike. Thanks

I get pain in my legs on sitting cross legged. It is so severe that I have to uncross my legs in about 10 minutes max. I also have lower back pain but only when I bend forward. Any help?

Sounds like lower lumbar issues, when you bend it's the lumbar and lower thoracic areas that do the most work, may want to try a chiropractor and or get an MRI for further diagnosis

Can this affect erectile function and sfinkter? I got sick 2 years ago with was suspected to be cauda equina syndrom. But when I eventually got to do a MRI (took couple of weeks sadly), it didn't reveal anything. The lower back pain eventually continued to develop in the hips as well as the lower back. And now also in the groin area. I have like nerve pain under the scrotum and in the penis. After I got sick 2 years ago my erectile function went from like 100% down to at most 60%. But now since 3 weeks back I have complete erectile dysfunction. The penis tries to get hard when I'm sleeping or waking up but it at most like 2 percent erectile function left.

This happened to me when I lifted my dog into the care I felt a sharp pain in the lower right back and when I turned the pain went like a zipper around the hip thru the groin and down the front of my thigh so painful I saw stars. Now its day 3 and cannot walk straight but hunched forward at 90 degrees bc its so painful. I cannot use crutches a cane nor can I reach for any the in the cabinet. Sleeping is painful since ever move feels like a razor searing pain from back to thigh. Will this heal soon?

Hey Alpha, i know what your talking about, i did my own plumbing 10 days ago and i still cant stand upright,no bed sleeping ,.thighs all of a sudden are useles and its scary cause wth days before it was All good!!and now need to walk hunched over 90°!!Massage gun and tens unit has really helped me. Tens unit needs at least 6 pads at a time,hurts fake out the nerves, buy extra pads and ointment, did you see video were using round handle of butter knife on coconut oiled thigh muscle feels all those bumps disappearing as your pushing handle on thigh muscle,frckn amazing!!helps knee pain alot!

It is because you have nerves that run through the psoas and down to those areas so a hurt psoas can aggravate those nerves and cause the pain in to the testicle, I have the same issue and my pain doctors told me this

@@lolotv9752 yes there is, I’m not recovered yet but doing certain stretches and going to physical therapy for this is usually very successful in healing your muscle according to my doctors and from what I’ve read online
