This is one of the few automatic landings I made in where we just saw enough to continue the automatic landing. Between the difference between approaching minimums and minimums is just 100ft! When no visual que is seen, a GoAround is needed.
We knew the conditions were not optimal. Fog was reported in our weather information. Prior departure we received a CTOT (an airport slot) of 1 hour after the original departure time! This was due to the low visibility at Oporto. We both didn't expect it to be so close to the minimums to see anything. This is what we train for in the simulator but rarely see in real live.
We both enjoyed this approach!
