Well these are a swine to align. Much centres around getting the detal tune alignment correct. I have the service manual for this as it happens.
Anyway, we ended up with 3.8W output & receive at around 0.31uV for 12dB SINAD.
Unlike other PT40 based sets we discover the Grandstand Hawk appears identical.

An in depth repair and Align but all worth it in the end and bringing back memories of my old Grandstand Hawk, looking forward to the Scratchy corner test and it wont be too long till I will be looking to return to the airwaves as I have now moved to an ideal location and will be looking back at some of the sets and tests in the videos to make my mind up will keep you informed catch you tomorrow 10-10.

I've found "1-9 a copy" type of CB use impossible for decades, with gthe burner brigade, bucket mouths, music players & illegal radio brigade. The only way CB works is to have specific friends to talk to & arrange to meet on a particular channel...like we use 31. I drive around with the CB on scan & it's the same in all cities & big towns. @@ukfmcbradioservicingTango21 I know what you mean there it got like that in mid 90's when I originally sold up due to mic keyers & bucket mouths, but last time I was on in 2019 it wasn't too bad in Lincoln there was a nice network of breakers so just hoping it's as good as it was plus I know one or two from the original days so fingers crossed.

That RCA socket could have been input from a cassette deck or mixer so they could run a CB music station, heard it done back in the day in London in 1982 - they were even offering "singles to be won" !!

hi buddy if i wanted a rig sorting out ,, i have a midland rig slim forget which model, no audio out,, to on tannoy our output audio, i have channel audio, can i send it in for price on repair, thanks lee,
