It was a day to see what I could find at Lowes on the bargain racks. It has been hot, hot, hot here but that can't keep me out of the garden center!

The center spot in the fountain can make it more appealing by adding a place for birds to land so they can splash and preen themselves in shallower the water.

I have found the birds like to land on the little cheap solar fountains when it is early morning and it is not on yet too. I did not think about them landing on that spot in the center, it makes perfect sense.

thanks for sharing. enjoyed the tour. i'm trying not to buy anymore plants at this time. keeping the others going through the hot summer with little rain is enough right now. again thank you and dry to stay cool.

I understand. For me it is a good time to start some perennials from seed. I do this in the shade and it works well. It is warm enough both day and night that they start growing well and by the time I can put them in the garden they are big enough. Some I do wait and seed in the Fall directly in the ground.

Good job at holding back. I’m always so proud of myself when I just walk out with mulch or soil…but it is July & if I want more annuals I just throw out more zinnia seeds. lol

I compare them with the plants available to me, here in Sth East QLD, Australia. Like you, I always look for marked down plants when I go to Bunnings (which is like your Lowes) 💛🪻🌴

Welcome to California, even if it is virtually! Yes, plants from different areas are so fun to discover. I need to visit Australia as I know it would be so fascinating to see all the plants I am not familiar with. When I am sick of winter here I need to head down there to enjoy your summer weather.

Interesting video, it was the bees knees. I prefer to grow from seed or split existing plants and replant them if I loose any over the winter.

Those are the types of plants I love to find. Ones I don't have but I have wanted and I can split them in the future. Like the Phlox I got a couple weeks ago. They will get large enough to divide quickly then I can have many more. The bargain rack is where I found my Cats Pajamas Nepeta and it is easily divided. I am lining many paths with it as it is such a trooper.

I got tomatoes x 5 from the reduction rack, this year. I might go back to have a look very soon. In Norfolk UK it's cold, again... so much rain at this time ....

The seeds I get from Renees Garden Seeds, I think they are called Hummingbird Penstemon are hardy to zone 4, but we know how other factors determine hardiness too.

I don't care for Day lilies either and didn't want orange in my garden but that's what Gma's garden had and they're SO easy to divide that it's what I had to work with. Maybe someday I can give them away and plant something else.

We have a Daylily Nursery not far from us that specializes in them. I should make a trip there and see what gorgeous colors they may have.

Oh pam, hello there. Hmmm! Im not sure if you made it through without giving in to some plants,I think at the end of video you may have found some bargains, hmmmmm!.I shall have to wait and see..im looking out for anemone,I think im meaning Japanese anemone,s.i think the cream y white,then there is the pink colour one.i have 1 its not grown very big yet,.I did love shopping with you again today. Yes I saw some sad plants too.maybe they could be reduced well.thankyou so much again, hope you have had a good Monday. See you soon, from me and my garden girls 🐔.

I planted a pink anemone this Spring and it doesn't look like it is happy but we shall see. I have a white one but it is still in its pot in the greenhouse and it isn't happy either but I am not sure I should put it in the ground seeing how the pink one doesn't look good at the moment. Who knows, it could be they just need to adjust.

I got a beautiful Japanese Pieris at my local Garden Center for $10. reduced....it looks great I don't know why it was in reduced section except that there was only one so I guess they wanted rid of it. Regularly $39.99. I was so excited I took it out and put it on ground beside me while I was looking at other plants and someone tried to take it from me! I was like um no this is mine I took it out of the pile and I was right there. The nerve of some people. I always feel so happy when I find something at a great price and that I wasn't looking for.

I do love those sorts of bargains, in fact I should head up to my local Ace (1 mile from me) to see what they have. The garden center there used to be spectacular but their supplier sold out and they have struggled to find another that will bring plants up the mountain to them. I know the manager of the garden department and he has tried so hard. He does get some but not like he used to be able to. He keeps the prices so reasonable too.

Fun Lowe's tour! Do you know what the purple blooms are at 6:37 - they are to the left of the Hydrangeas and are on the shelf ABOVE the variegated Sedum. Purple always catches my eye! 💜💜💜Thanks!

Those are Osteospermums also known as African Daisies. I love purple too!

Good morning Pam! 😅 Believe it or not, I was at Sonora Lowes on the 5th as well! Haha 😂 and!! I walked out without any new plants!! Lol 😮 I was a little disappointed they didn't have more sales for 4th of July weekend.... but better for my budget!! 😂😂😂 Not sure if you read my response to message regarding your trumpet vine you grew from seed, I would absolutely love to have it for Ryne's garden ❤ even more special coming from one of my favorite gardening 'gurus' 🥰 I'd enjoy meeting in Sonora any time!

Our Norfolk Lavender is beautiful but very few honey bees, it seemed to get better but now more rain, where's it all coming from ?

I haven't heard of Norfolk Lavender, I will have to look it up. We are getting a heat wave while you get rain and cold. The weather sure has a mind of its own.

I like the humminbird mix from Renees Garden Seeds. They are sold out right now but I am on an email list to be informed when they restock. I want to grow more.
