Thank you very much for giving us this valuable info. I recently purchased a tracker and it has two of these units. I'm horrible at reading these fish so this helps. My question is probably going to sound dumb to you but what exactly is a waypoint and does it help in positioning my boat towards those fish? I guess I have another question as well. if I have an ultrex trolling unit can it put me on those fish with gps?

Yes, as long as it is the gps/chartplotter unit. They make a version that is only a fish finder. I believe those are called "Hook2x".

does this thing give a live continuous feed? or do u have to press a button it snaps still frames?

It’s not considered live feed, but basically yeah, it’s continuously showing you what’s under your boat.

New user to exact unit. I need a book for dummies. I can’t figure out how to download a contour map of Lake Eufaula in Alabama to a blank SD card I bought and then I think I can figure out how to put SD card in unit and hope I can use GPS to get back to landing

No. The x models are only fish finders. No gps.

Roy plumber yes. The lowrance hook2x don’t have gps mapping. They are only fish finders.

Why does Amazon have a lot of bad reviews? Will it be great just for navionics use? So I can mark and way points?

rob cantu people don’t know how to adjust the settings. Don’t know how to use a fish finder. Don’t know what it’s features do.

I use to be what you call a semi pro bass fishermen, use to fish professional bass tournaments (flw) and a lot of the bad reviews was just from people who don’t know how to use the fish finder/graph. Majority of the time bass fishing the graph is used to find structure/cover, contour, depth temperature and baitfish especially up shallow. One of the reviews is the guy put it next to another fish finder and he was picking up interference with the other fish finder and he thought the new Lowrance fish finder was broke or a piece of junk and he didn’t know about interference.

So if you spot the fish on the finder under the boat, how do you know where to cast, do you just drift a few feet past then cast back?

Everything displayed is basically the past. So you need to know how wide your cone angle is and then basically estimate. But you should aim past the structure and cover near the bass and drag the lure through it.

Hey, is this review of the Triple shot or split shot as i know my split shot cannot have separating screens unless i have missed something as well as i cannot find the vids in your channel for the setup of the units. thanks

Felton Brooks it came with inland maps and a navionics chip.

How are the maps that come with it? Do you know if Lake Champlain is included? Thanks

tbarto100 the map chip included only has larger lakes, so I assume Champlain is on there. I haven’t used them for the bigger lakes, so I don’t know how accurate they are. Those can also be upgraded. Smaller lakes you can log sonar and have them custom made.

@@MaineManBassing Thanks for the reply. What unit do you have. I see they have 2 versions of maps. One with C-MAP 3,000 lakes and one with Navionics US/Canada? Would you recommend this unit? Thanks

tbarto100 I have navionics. C-map downloads are free with purchase of lowrance, I believe. I download c-map maps for free.

MY HOOK 9 WENT BAD AFTER 4 TIMES IN THE WATER LESS THAN 6 MONTHS OLD AND ITS STILL UNER WARRANTY AND THEY WANTED 200 BUCKS TO FIX IT. I WILL NEVER BUY 1 AGAIN
