Waypoints, Routes and Trails are critical functions to navigating waterways with your Lowrance unit. Waypoints are simply GPS coordinates saved on your chart, but they have many more uses. Watch as Jacob Scott guides you through basic waypoint creation and management, as well as routes and trails.

In general, the TI units are faster in response to inputs. This is seen when quickly switching between sonar, downscan, chart, and split screens kzfaq.infoUgkxeAxH15LxhjGlg5-CRYqjTGTEH0tbY4vk recommend The Hook units will show some lag on button pushes and screen switching. The big ticket item though is maps. If you install a mapping card such as Navionics or the free C-Map Genesis which has a lot of map detail, then moving around the map with the cursor or when running down the lake can lag significantly on the Hook units, but is seamless with the TI units.

Can you make casting rings around the way point so you know how far from the way point to stop? Is this feature the same I available on the Elite TI 2, 9 sonar unit?

Hey, I just need some help here . I have baught a Elite ti2 ,and just wondering what the different files that is created on my card means. The files is Genesis live (date).GSD and sonar (date).smf Is it waypoints and routes? Can i delete them from my card and store them on the unit in that case?

The HDS Live came with a 3-1 transducer. I already have a 3d bundle with a 3D transducer on the transom. Should I eliminate the 3D module (sonic hub) and replace the transducer with the 3-1 if it is a better trensducer? I never use the 3D if that means anything.

Thank you for the great video! Is there a way to save waypoints so that they show back up on side imaging when you go back to spots that you have marked previously, or do they only show up in map view?

I have a Carbon unit and set a new waypoint . I accidentally hit the Go To function and want to delete that route now.....how do I do that?

You will just need to press Navigation and then press Cancel. If you want to delete a route, press the Page menu, select Waypoints, you will then see the Route option where you can choose the data to delete.

Hi When you create a waypoint it is created at the location of the GPS sensor at that point in time. If you have a unit that has an internal GPS then the waypoint is marked at that location. Depending upon the system installed you could have several GPS receivers In a networked system. If you had one display at the bow and one at the console you can choose to have each unit independently marking the location or you can choose to only have one as the GPS source. Some anglers add a GPS module and place it on the deck at a specific location and use that as the only point of reference for waypoints. In short the waypoint will be marked at the current position of the GPS receiver selected. You can choose to have one GPS receiver as the "global" source in which case all waypoint and position information would use that specific GPS receiver. The other option is to set the unit to "local" and specify what receiver you want to use for that unit..When a source is set as Global, it will be used by all displays on the network. When a source is set as Local, it will only be used by thedisplay that selected it as the source. I hope this helps

Lowrance I don’t think this is entirely accurate. If you put a cursor on the screen, doesn’t the unit calculate that spot in relation to the unit and attempt to place the waypoint at the cursor Vice where the unit is? That complicates the issue of internal GPS vs transducer location.

@@FishOn1 Hi You are correct that the unit will place the waypoint in relation to the GPS source that unit is using. If the system is a one unit internal GPS unit then your descrition is correct. If however, the system has a point1 GPS unit or another unit with a GPS receiver you would have the option to use a different GPS source for that unit. In that case it would put the waypoint at the location of the Source of the GPS for that unit.

@@lowrance It would be nice to see how each unit on your boat calculates the GPS position of structure based on it's own GPS source....i.e...one unit has a Point 1 for GPS position, and the other unit using an internal GPS source. I mark a lot of structure from my helm unit (Point 1 unit) by locating structure on my side scan display. I then move to the front unit (internal GPS) to navigate to the structure to begin my casting. I use the range rings to position my cast. I wonder if my position to the target is correct based on my front unit internal GPS. I hope you understand my concern. Please provide your thoughts (a video would be great).

As soon as you have ethernet connected the two units, you will see all your waypoints, appearing also on the second unit.

Excellent video,I like how you teach👍,I have a TI 7 with the total scan transducer,with fish reveal update,I've made structure maps,but I can figure out how to display the depths on the map,I seen a video before but I can't find it, PLEASE PLEASE 911 lol can you help Kenny,or give a link,I would greatly appreciate it,thank you 👊👊👍👍

Hi If I understand your question you want to see the depth contour lines from the chart when you are overlaying the StructureMap on the chart. To do this you would turn on the structure overlay and then adjust the transparency so the contour lines on the chart were visible

When you say transducer is shooting out 150 feet to both sides very misleading in judgeing distance to where cover/fish etc. Is in respect to the boats location. Minus the depth of water you are in from your range and that is your 'true range'.👍😉

The main difference is that routes are pre-planned route and trails are a group of points that you have left behind you/your boat.

Is there a video on how to copy the waypoints from a Garmin (and others) to the Lowrance Hook Reveal? Is there a fast way to copy waypoins from other units? Thank you.

You'll need to copy your waypoints onto a micro SD card and then use GPS Babel to convert the files. www.gpsbabel.org/
