Hey Dj Tlm, first off thanks for making this channel. I've been djing for about 2 years now and your channel played a huge role in my growth as a dj. In those 2 years I've done a lot of crazy shows. I played my first party of about 250 people after a month, played a festival, opened for lots of big names like Ty Dolla Sign, Omarion, Desiigner etc and even headlined a 1000 person show. I currently charge a fee that I think is fair but compared to other dj's in my town, I'm charging less. I'm worried about charging more for event because I've only been djing for 2 years and I feel that my short time djing doesn't justify charging more but my skills are up there in my opinion and from feedback from other people. Every event I've done always gives great reviews and I've had multiple event organizers tell me that people bought tickets because they saw my name on a poster. My question is, does having dj'd for such a short period of time factor into my price or should it strictly be based off my skills and value as a dj and is it worth it to get a manager to determine and negotiate those for me because as a person I'm not a very assertive/aggressive person

Shout out to you once again DjTLM. As always you bring relevant material to the field. Speaking to the first question, here is my 2 cents. At the end of the day, business is business, no matter what the business is. If I were in your situation I would give the current residency an opportunity to match or at least present a counter offer. It isn't always about the money. It's no different than looking at new a job in any field. Professional courtesy dictates that you give your current employer a chance to make you an offer. After that you got to go with what works best for you and yours. Just make sure you don't burn bridges on your rise. Any true business person can respect that philosophy.

I just made a big move from city to city and I had sort of two landing spots. I wanted to kinda split then up. That's kinda like the playing one then the other each week. I wouldn't recommend that, it didn't work well, you should make a decision. This industry is about making the leap. If you have a new position leave the old and make room for the fresh. You could even try and bring in a friend of yours who has no residency and that leaves you some influence back at the old spot.

Thanks for the feedback! You made a good point. And hooking up some of your own peeps at the old spot is a great way to still have that connect

That guy trying to get his name out there, you apologised for having a long message. When I was in door to door we were told not to do things like this. Your words are your pitch; it's important. You need to command those moments with potential prospects (club owners). Same with your questions to DJtlm. Take your moment in life, we the people aren't rushing you. Say your piece brah. ♡♡

I've been DJing for over a year now and I have played at public events with hundreds of people, at parties and other events of the such however have always wanted to play at a club and be more in the centre of the attention than being background music I think my skills as a DJ are fairly high as I practice almost every day. I'm 16 at the moment but I want to get into the club scene as soon as possible, should I try to play in a club and if so how could I get the opportunity?

#ShareTheKonwledge First of all, thanks for your great work. It really helps a lot and i love the way you explain! Keep up the good work :) so here is my Problem: I bought a Vinyl last day. Talib Kweli - Quality. I love the Album, but the Vinyl seems to be broken... While i´m listening to "Side A" and i put my hand on the Vinyl it stops..logically.. and when i release my hand it starts instantly. When i do the exact same thing with "Side B" the Vinyl starts veeeeeery slowly until it reaches the speed of the pattern of my turntable. I´m using Reloop 7000 MK2 and it´s the first time i have this problem with a Vinyl. I hope you or someone else can help me :) Sorry for my english guys!
