Beatrice Black is a typical high school girl who doesn’t fit in with the other students. She’s smart, mature, and is on top of every task with responsibility. However, Bea's memories of her past with some mean girls come back to her as she faces rejection and discrimination every day, and she can’t quite seem to figure out why. Even worse, Bea is also known to be the most anxious introvert in the whole school, and if she can’t get away from uncomfortable situations, her mind and body will be full of panic, much to her embarrassment. One day, Bea not only experiences one of her worst days ever, but will also learn about what makes her anxiety and panicky moments stand out from the other students.
MY MESSAGE:
This is a film I’ve been wanting to bring to life since about a year or two ago, and let me just say that I am more than pleased with the way it turned out. You may not know this, but from a young age, I’ve suffered from two different forms of social anxiety disorder. The first form lasted from my early childhood until about mid-2013, and I’ve recently developed another form of it that has been difficult to cope with, especially this year. In fact, 2015 - both in school and in my personal life - has been too much for me to handle to the point where I began to have more panic attacks than normal, and used avoidance tactics to reduce my anxiety. During the beginning of this year, that was the spark of inspiration and motivation that helped me come up with this film. I planned for months, scripted for weeks, filmed for days, edited for weeks, and now…..it is live for everyone to see. Now, to be clear, I did NOT make this video for pity; I did NOT make this video just to share a part of my life; and I did NOT create this film just because I had no other video ideas. I made this video to raise awareness for the issues that were depicted in the film, and in hopes that many of you can relate with this video, because I’m sure we’ve all been bullied and had our anxious moments at some points in our lives, right?

And if you think you might have an anxiety disorder, don't hold back: tell your parents or an adult you trust, and they can take you to a psychologist to clarify what it could be. Trust me, it’s not as bad as you think. At least 1/5 of all people will experience a diagnosable anxiety disorder at some point in their lives, so it is very common, and the disorders are measured at different degrees - from little to no anxiety, to very severe and extreme forms of anxiety.
With that said and done, I am very excited and VERY anxious to share a video depicting parts of my life, but if this helps at least one of you going through a similar situation, then I am glad that I was able to help you with this meaningful film.
