Taiga at 1 point might look wierd, until you consider its overepresentation in the format and how easy the land lets you splash powerfull spells like minsc and boo or wrenn and six in non green red decks or non red green decks it starts to make sence

Frankly, I'm suprised that more of the duals didn't get an increase, especially since they knocked all the moxen to 0 points. Seemed like a fair trade to me, but we'll see how it plays out

Yes in Victoria at yellowjacket games a deck is allowed 12 proxies (they upped it) which absolutely rules because I can feasibly play there even though I didn't start playing until 2018 and have no power 9 or reserve list cards lol

It’s a rule at Yellowjacket that you can have 10 proxies but that isn’t a format rule. 10 or 100 proxies is common for other stores

Flash + protean hulk lets you put 6cmc worth of creatures into play, what you do with that 6cmc varies but it usually ends with the opponent dying

You flash in protean hulk and let it die which then allows you to get up to 6 MV worth of creatures split up among any number of bodies. LOTR gave us Samwise Gamgee who combos with Cauldron Familiar and Viscera Seer to drain your opponent out. Since that totals to only 4 mana, you have 2 more for protection pieces like Grand Abolisher. So the combo requires you to resolve a single 2 mana instant with hulk in hand at which point it is incredibly hard to disrupt especially since flash has you sacrifice it as part of the resolution leaving no room for something like swords to plowshares to stop the death trigger.

So flashes wording on the card means you get to do an evoke style effect for ANY creature in your hand. Things like Craterhoof, Atraxa, Niv Mizzit ect all do super powerful ETB effects but flash let's you just put them into play for (basically) free. Yes they die immediately after entering (unless you pay the mana cost reduced by 2, which is also really strong because it let's you play creatures at weird times that your opponent won't be expecting, for instance instant speed 1 mana initiative creature) but you don't care about the creature you care about the etb.
