The yellow wire was for the original points ignition setup. My 68 firebird was the same way. Something about the points only needed a full 12 volts while being started and the other wire that fed the points with the key on the on position only gave it 9.3 volts.

Holy cow. I can't believe I found your video. I just bought a 1967 Camaro and I want to do the exact same build on it. I'm thinking of going full resto-mod (more emphasis on the "mod") with the LS swap and a new 10 speed automatic. I want a custom interior update with all the modern comforts.....electric and heated seats, computer and flat screen GMC system, back up sensors and camera, new awesome sterio system. You might as well start putting some money aside and start saving up for a terminator x…….trust me….them factory ecu’s suck balls…..nice job on the swap though…it wont be long until you put that terminator x on along with a couple PSI of boost……it usually snowballs that way!!!…..ask me how i know
