This video is about our experience with a 2022 LS MT357 Tractor. I describe the successes and serious problems we've had in the first year of ownership. I hope this video helps people that are considering the purchase of an LS tractor.

I can remember as a kid plowing fields harvesting wheat, corn, soy beans and never never having a problem with.a tractor, now at 72 years old and having my LS tractor shows me what kind of a world we all live in, like wheel bearings on your car never never had a problem now its a different story, back then costly items were made to last a lifetime, now things are made to make the companies more money and to hell with having a satisfied customer.

You are so right, just look at the kitchen appliances today, if they last 10 years you are extremely lucky. There is no such thing as pride in workmanship anymore.

Thanks so much for posting this video. We're taking delivery of a left over 2022 MT347 next week. Our closest dealer is right at 100 miles away and I still saved thousands over the competitors tractors pricing.

Good video, you gave us things to check and bolts to retorque. I have a 2013 LS r4041 that I havent had any issues with. I do check some bolts that the dealer had showed me, but thanks to you, ill check more. I have 475 hrs. Mostly light duty work.

I can see from this video, you need to invest in a trailer. When I bought my LS tractor in Florida, I told my dealer that I would need a trailer, so he knew a guy that built them. A few weeks later the trailer showed up. It has twin axles, before I moved to Missouri I bought a spare for around $100. at a trailer store, the trailer builder wanted $300. Only real leak I had was hydraulic down under the transmission where 2 lines run and go up from one side to the other. The dealer in Stratford MO. finally figured out the part number through LS website but I had to pay the way they sell them for the whole line from one block to the other. The line had a slight leak but wasn't under pressure, they welded a brace for connecting to bottom side of trans.

Thanks for sharing the video I had the exact same thing happened to my Kioti tractor the bolts that holds the transmission onto the back of the engine came loose and all the hydraulic oil leaked out under warranty also 2 hydraulic lines started leaking and I bent the bucket back dragging so it doesn't really matter what brand it is

Great and informative video. I have the same tractor that is in this video. Mine has 200 hours. No problems so far, I love the machine. A couple things though.. when I bought mine, I noticed immediately that my tire was hitting my loader mount on full turns, so I adjusted my stops out further, and it has been perfect ever since. IF you look in the loader manual, it specifically says in there that if the loader is added to the tractor, the steering stops MUST be adjusted. I think that a lot of dealers are forgetting this step. From looking at your video, your stops look like they are adjusted way too far out. That could be why they are bending. Lift your front wheels off the ground with the loader, turn the wheels to full stop, and articulate the axle, then set the stops yourself. I am betting they can be adjusted IN at least a half or 3/4 inch further in. This will probably take care of the bending issue, plus the bolt head will hit the stop at the right angle. Yours are WAY further out than mine.. and I have the same exact machine, same tires, etc. As far as you having to pay for the tractor to be transported, that is a dealer issue, and seems expensive. I have a trailer and haul my own tractor, you might consider that option.. would be way better than 5-700 bucks for transportation fees. My dealer is known for providing free tractor pick up and delivery.. so everyone's experience will be a little different in this situation. It's good that the warranty covered the repairs. And it's true that a comparable Kubota or JD with all the same options runs about 15-18k more. For 15-18K, you can buy another entire tractor!!!! So it's very hard to justify buying one of the expensive brands. I also noticed my loader flexing a little more than my loader did on my previous Kioti tractor. It is a little unsettling... but... I have carried some logs weighing over a ton to the sawmill, over pretty long distances, and have had no problems. So far so good! LS is a great value.

Thanks for your response. I have lifted up the front wheels with the bucket, and the adjustment is what it takes for mine to clear and not ever interfere with the loader arm mount. I’m not sure why yours would be different but I really wanted to air on the side of a tighter turning radius. We have a trailer that we can haul the tractor on but when you figure out how much time is involved in getting it to the dealer start to finish, it makes more sense for me to spend my time being productive. Hauling tractors is expensive, but not as expensive as me.

My problem with getting a trailer is the cost of a trailer big enough to haul an MT342HC with Rim Guard in the rear tires is the fact that the trailer will cost about $5500 in these parts. And it's not something I need for anything else. So its money just sitting in case something goes wrong. And the other problem was the steering just like yours. And LS said it was a 12mm bolt but the MT342 has a 10mm bolt. The one that comes on the tractor is not long enough and also has a reduced head size. Theirs takes a 10mm wrench. A standard bolt has a 14mm bolt head which hits the tie rod as it turns. To get a reduced head bolt you have to buy a dozen bolts and they were from England. Ground mine down.

So we have had our LS tractor for 18 months .. we also have the 40HP model ... first the Bang for the Buck is better than any tractor out there. Seriously - when its working - its the best investment you can ever make ... BUT her are a few CONS: The tractor is made in Korea - at the same plant I think the New Hollands are made - BUT seating is made for people about 5'8 not 6'1 ... the seating is cramped .... absolutely no leg room (2) If you have to do any sort of Warranty work LS will fight you tooth and nail on that its NOT their issue or that its outside of the 5 year warranty. I had a main bearing seize and the dealership said that there was nothing I could have done to prevent that -- but LS in Tennessee set on my claim for almost THREE months before finally allowing the dealership to repair ... Three months without a tractor HURTS us smaller farmers even though I had others here on the land ... (3) ... the lift capability is fine .. it does a fine job -- HOWEVER you need to make sure that you pick whatever you pick up dead-centre of the bucket ... we were picking something up using the right corner of the bucket and it bent the centre arm during lifting and now the right side of the bucket is 4 inches lower then the left ... the arms need to be thicker gauge (4) you will go through fuel pumps ... they are cheap .. about 10.00 ... get a few ... YES I mean FUEL PUMPS !!! .... (5) the 8 gallon fuel tank is directly centered on the back seat of the tractor ... meaning if you have any farm implements at all hooked to the rear refueling via a 5 gallon container is a messy nightmare ... Besides the above the tractor is a workhorse ... I mean - best $$$ we have spent ...

Ghostwriter!! Great to see you. I thought you were an engineer in south Texas. I'm a long tall Texan and I fit our tractors ok. I more or less agree with the loader weakness even though it lifts more than the similar Kubota. It doesn't lift as high. They compromised on heavy lifting geometry and then under built the loader arms. All these smaller tractors are that way though. They build them to a price point and we love that part. Again, it was great to see your name pop up.

Hauling fees are never included in warranty repairs. I bought a trailer and haul my own, my dealer is 120 miles away. But your price observations were spot on. I "built" a Kubota on their website, I Built a John Deere on their website and they were $8000-$10.000 more expensive at the dealer's lot than the New Holland (rebranded LS) was delivered to the ranch.

I bought a 4200 John Deere estate tractor. I was told that it was a 50hp tractor. Come to find out it was 35hp.I had so much trouble with it. That ended up selling it. That tractor spent more time at the dealership than it did in my yard.

i have no need for a tractor but grandpa told me, try to buy a new used one which he meant 1 year old cause then those teething issues should be sorted out. I worked only on the farm when I had been young and then went away into the car production or a total different age if you compared that with the commercial vehicle production back then which has changed a lot since end of cold war. I like these videos and least I do now know that LS stands for a South Korean brand and that hey are sold in the EU by a german importer who has the MT350 cabin and a few more to offer but not the MT357 which can be due to different product names or how they measure the horsepower. I bet the MT360 would match the one you had mentioned in the description. At least to me it felt like the usual commercial vehicle teething problems peoples on the farm are used to deal with except the big one with the engine and gearbox and of cause the AC issues. At the end these are here not selling really well based on the dealerhsip they mentioned. Farming here has become a highly professional and profitable business and small farmers or part time farmers do no longer really exists, even those with scottish or other exotic cattle that produce biologic meat cause they all have to deal with the bureaucracy, can not longer slaughter where they wanted or could cause those smaller slaughterhouses had shut down the business here and suddenly no one of the smaller farmer knows how to go on with their unique, small cattle cause slaughtering at home is forbidden to them . But we live in highly populated area even though many would not call it this way but 140 years ago half of my family emigrated to the USA , Chicago, Illinois and a few to Kentucky which does not mean city life but the farms are small and every 500 m is a house at least while you can drive to the eastern part of germany and there is nothing than fields and straight streets at least in the north eastern part. Great video - watched it to the end even though it has no battery in the title. How is your bigger solar power system performing you had been working on last year when you wanted to expand the current one ? We have gone from small 2 kWp over 7 now to 27 kWp by replacing all the former panels on the roof with those big agriculture ones which means usually only sold to farmers with 550 to 650 Wp each which means lot less costs for the roof brackets which are quite a lot (170 € or $ is the price for 550 Wp panels and the roof mounting brackets are usually additional 50€.) We went this way to get rid of the oil heater or lower its consumption by 3/4 with new heatpumps, split AC in the rooms and a warm water boiler with a heatpump and a heatexchanger to warm the water for the centralheating with surplus energy from the roof. Only when it gets too cold the central oil heater helps out to heat the house. Will have paid off itself within 5 years and we are more independent from oil than in the past after having replaced 50% of the cars with EVs and also the heating. At the end we also still have the good old wood oven with a heatexchanger supporting the oil burner so we are quite independent now even during winter weeks with shorter days.

I always hated when people asked for like sense subscribes. Once I had my own channel, I realized what a difference it actually makes. Lots of times I hit the light button because I get reminded. There’s a distinct possibility that you would’ve never had this video suggested to you if my channel hadn’t grown as a result of the likes and subscribe that I asked for.I still don’t like it though.

Haha I disagree on the point about me finding the video though I pretty much burn through every tractor related video on KZfaq. 😂 I already have a tractor and a skid steer but I feel like a compact tractor is in my future to add to the fleet so I’ve been keeping my eyes open for tips and reviews.

$5-700.00 to haul tractor sounds like a lot for 3 hr round trip, warrantee should also cover that cost. Kubota use to have good buys but they are getting close to JD prices now. Theres lots of tractor choices out there now but dealer choice are still far and few between......

I don;t think you should get charged for the transport of the tractor if it was broke and under warranty. My dad had a bobcat that they tryed fixing it and it still leaked when he got it back, the next weekend he took it apart and got it fixed correctly. They said that he can't do that, he said why because it is out of warranty what can you do about it. He said buy the way it's fixed now.

Sorry to hear about the back plate coming loose, it's even worst to see such a basic arrangement in order to create a full lock adjustment for the front axle, I would be on the case immediately trying to create a better design as I'm sure you will do. It would be nice to watch the movement in action in order to establish the available space/clearance around the track rod end.

We have a trailer and a dually pickup and can haul the tractor but when you figure the total time involved and associated costs it isn’t the best use of our time. Time is what we don’t have enough of so each time we will calculate the cost and our work load and decide what makes sense.

My five year old LS is a much different animal from the recent one. There are some serious differences and even some common parts like the bucket tilt indicator are made cheaper and more flimsy. Never a problem with the old one. The new one replaced twice and bent again. The six year warranty is drive train only and all the rest is two years.

Things like that dont happen to kubotas. This is exactly why i decided against an ls. That and the massive loss of power at the pto. A new kubota mx6000 whith cab rear remotes and third function is around 58,000. Much better tractor than an ls. Ypu get what you pay for. Theres a reason ls is much cheaper. Its much lower quality. At 58k i also got a box blade and land level grader. Also cant pull a 12 foot batwing with an ls 357. I can with the kubota. The ls 357 only puts out 41 hp at the pto where the kubota and deere 60 hp tractors put donw 53. Big difference when using the pto. Ls is just not a good option for people who use a tractor all the time.
