Did they? Really. Last 6 games of the season that dramatically improved uo defense gave up 32 PPG.

@@robertbacon1657 The number the team finished is immaterial. In '22 sooner defense gave up UNDER 30 PPG. LAST SIX games of '23 they gave up 32 PPG. That's NOT IMPROVING my partner. Not according to 2nd grade math in Mr Babineaux's class at good old Galliano Elementary school down the bayou.

@@robertbacon1657 Talent was NOT the issue last year. There was a disconnect between the coaches and players. After the bowl win DC Matt House went up to all american DT Maki Wingo to talk. Wingo just walked on by. LSU defensive front 7 can match you blue chip for blue chip and stud for stud. Tigers backend of secondary is experienced and talented. Why we talking about LSU defense? That wasn't topic at hand.

Pit Boss and sunbelt billy might not make it to LSU game. Only thing in their favor is LSU has to hit the road for both of them. Other than that LSU has the better head coach, coaching staff and roster. Tigers have owned the gators this past decade or so.

@@carterbhuff Hawgs way more than the gators. It's been a lot of 3 point games VS arky. Last 5 games VS gators avg is about 2 score difference.

@GruneD I think it depends if LSU defense takes a leap forward under a new coaching staff. Usc D I do not believe can slow the run game if lsu can run the ball with a lead.

That horrible LSU defense came up with multiple BIG plays in FIVE of the six conference wins and bowl win too. Momentum changing plays. CBK improved his defensive staff from WORST in the SEC to possibly the best. LAST time LSU lost 1st round QB and 2 WRs in SAME draft tigers won it all the following year. Led by an offense that INCREASED on PPG from previous year.

@@user-xp6qd4sk1j all fair. But where is a Burrow, Chase, Delpit or even Chaisson on that team ? The defense will be better but nowhere near LSU standarts. And you know the SEC ... if they see a weakness ... they will go for it.

So did joeyb. So does Nuss. Lacey will be the guy this year. Then there's Hilton. Then Daniels. Then Anderson. Then Thomas. Then Parker. Then Sampson. If I remember my geography, they ALL some bootdogs except for Daniels. If LSUs defense hits the defensive numbers of CBK 1st LSU defense '22 tigers win plenty plenty games in '24. Off the edge Womack will light it up this year. At safety keep an eye on these 2 Fr Kylin Jackson and Deshawn McBride-Spears. Maybe not this year but in the very near future. CBK is building this defense to match the offense talentwise.

LSU lost a Heisman QB, the top 2 WR´s and had a bottom 20 defense in all of NCAA. If you win 8 games you should do happy dances all day in Baton Rouge. LSU will be back i know that for a fact but not in 2024, thats also a fact ! You dont have the Jimmys and Joes this season to compete with the real big boys. You saw that last year in baseball. LSU was the defending Champ and lost Paul Skenes and Floyd to the MLB. It was over from day 1 coz a Skenes or a Daniels/Nabers dont come along every year. I dont hate LSU but facts are facts and you dont win in the SEC with midlevel to above average talent. The Gumps have 88%, Texas 82% and Georgia 80% Bluechips. How you think this gonna work out against them ? Reload and in 2025 when your defense is elite give it a try. Good Luck
