Caitlyn Clark made me start watching women's college basketball there is nobody that's elevated with college basketball for women in Clark Wherever She Goes and plays and other team stadiums they sell out the best in my country the differences difference between Clarke and Reese the countries following Clark this is a person of color saying it..😅

I’ve played and followed basketball my whole life. I became a diehard fan of the Lady Gamecocks b/c of Coach Dawn Staley and Aliyah Boston. I still follow Aliyah in the WNBA. She’s phenomenal! I like LSU as well. I started watching them because of Angel Reese and Flau’jah. LSU basketball is exciting to watch and I love it. As Kim said, they sell out arenas wherever they go. If I lived closer, I’d go see them in person. I was happy to see them beat Iowa in the championship game. However, I firmly believe my Lady G’s will win it this year. If they don’t, I’m fine with LSU or Tennessee winning. TBH, I’d love to see my Alma mater(University of Arkansas)win, but that’s just a dream. For now. 😉 Caitlin is overrated. Yes, she scores a lot of points but she’s a ball hog. That annoys me. Basketball is a team sport not an individual sport. Seriously, let other people on your team shoot. People love to compare CC to Angel which is ridiculous. They play two different positions. If we want to compare, the better comparison is to another point guard. You know who is a much better player than CC? JuJu Watkins. Barring injury, she will smash any record Clark gets this year and she’s only a freshman.

Man what! When she hurt herself in the Islands I was HURT! I think her and MK would’ve been a good duo. And what made it sadder was she was practicing all summer and making a great improvement to her game 😢

@August Yeah. Great Loss for sure. They would have been unstoppable with her explosiveness, and 10-12 foot shot. They'll just have to find away to get Del Rosario; Kent (and maybe) Velez to make up for her enormous loss. But I think they can do it, if Mulkey's goes to an 8 woman rotation with Del Rosario; Poa; Kent, and maybe Velez for defensive pressure, change of pace.

I agree, but she needed to be a better team player. Had she been that, her minutes would have grown throughout the year. Her head outgrew her talent.

Sa'Myah Smith, she would have been huge in that South Carolina game, more especially with Angel being in foul trouble.

That is the biggest difference between LSU and other programs at the top of the rankings.

She does play them, they just don't seem to produce... they prolly won't be ready till next season.

But they aren't producing when they are in... so to put them in against big teams it just wouldn't be good! Our bench is a lot freshmen and sophomores besides poa....

@1toughplayer Mulkey, needs to figure out HVL's not a real point guard, and she has to structure her team in a way to where she's more a scorer and relieve her from running the offense, if not her ball handling.

The girls, for whatever reason, are gassed after a quarter or two. Their stamina sucks or they're being run to death in practice. Either way, the bench needs to play, if for no other reason than to give the starters a breather. I think Kim is a horrible strategist. The Valez question was valid coz she should be starting as the point guard. Period.

Griner had a strained relationship with former Baylor coach Kim Mulkey after she left the school. Mulkey said that it was a requirement for a player to have graduated to have her jersey retired. Griner got her degree in 2019.

Actually, HVL was a point guard all through high school AND on the USA FIBA Under teams. She ran point second behind Paige Bueckers on the USA teams, but she played the point guard there. Don’t matter who runs point, if they’re being face guarded by a great defender like HVL was by Fulwiley of SC, they can’t do anything except just getting the ball to someone not guarded so tough.

@frankiek2269 Playing Pg at this level is a bit different than high school, tho. She's slow, and her handle is weak. She has struggled all season, not just the SC game.

Master class in lowering the expectations. This team was preseason number 1 and picked to win it all . They still may but it’s unlikely not because of HVL or the starters but because the subs is so undeveloped enough to contribute.

Everyone forgets it just her 3rd year at lsu..yes incredibly experienced coach but just 3rd year..produced so far by turning around a losing program to what 20 plus wins first year, 2nd year national championship 3rd year a winning season and who knows.. Most of the team should return next year plus smith and some recruits/ transfers..

I agree with this. If I were going to rotate positions Flau would be point, and HVL would be 2, while MK goes to SF.

So what's the excuse for teams who after a rough road game, board a plane (or bus), get back home after midnight, and have an 8:30 class first thing in the morning?? Oh, they got back late and they need to rest.....poor things!! No, not in the real world. As college athletes, most don't have that option. They are expected to do their homework, go to class, keep their grades at a certain level, and go to practice. They have many expectations thrust on them as collegiate athletes. Whether it's visiting kids in the children's hospital, helping at a food bank, or any number of things to fulfill their obligations as the face of a university, they still have to go to practice. But you're right, I'm not there so I don't have a clue.

Coach Mulkey was a star player and is a Championship winning coach. She knows that the starting 5 needs to play less minutes. The fact that they don't lets me know that her bench is farther behind the curve than we thought. †

Big 4 has shown no interest this year in being a player maker. So moving her to the one is trying to do the same as HVL. She is going to be thinking (like she does now) & miss the post(like she does now).
