After going into the locker room down 3 at halftime, Florida State exploded in the second half to make a statement in a 45-24 victory over LSU in the Camping World Kickoff Game. QB Jordan Travis tossed 4 touchdowns on 23-31 passing and 342 yards. He’d add another touchdown with his legs. Keon Coleman had a game to remember for the Noles, catching 9 passes for 122 yards and 3 touchdowns.

They need to win at Clemson Sept.23 otherwise if they go 11-1 the final 4 might be a stretch if other teams in bigger power conferences end up with one loss. It seems the only way for a team besides Big Ten,SEC,ACC, Big 12 and possibly PAC 12 before broken up they need to go undefeated.

I’m a super senior at FSU due to some health issues I’ve faced during my undergrad. I’ve seen how we’ve been playing since 2019. I remember never going to the games as a freshman feeling so discouraged, and then last year I started going and started having a blast! and this game was so exciting as it demonstrates the steady improvement and teamwork that Coach Norvell has fostered with the team!!

I’m am SEC guy. And this was a beat down. That QB for FSU is unreal accurate and smart. And can run when needed. Norvell was who I wanted at Ole Miss. He wouldn’t spoil his legacy at Memphis by going to Oxford. We got Kiffen. I ain’t complaining. But Norvell is a heck of a coach.

I was lucky enough to be in the stadium for this as my first college football game ever and safe to say it was insane to watch in person. The energy in the arena after the 2nd half started was ridiculous, we were waving LSU fans hey hey hey, goodbye by the 3rd quarter and they were walking out in droves. I don’t watch any ball sports but FSU has me hooked. Go Noles!

When Jimbo was at FSU I started rooting against them bc of the way he ran the program. Since he left, as a Notre Dame fan I’ve watched FSU go through it. After a while I slowly started rooting for them to get back to success. Norvel has done a great job. Solid and respectable program. On another note, Notre Dame is a whole different team since Kelly left. Appreciate that he rebuilt the program to an extent, but he just can’t get out of his own way in the bigger moments. How he hasn’t learned to prepare a team for big games by this point is beyond me. Steady coach, instills discipline, terrible at preparing a team for the pressure.

Congrats to FSU on well deserved win. They looked like a top 5 team tonight and if it wasn’t for the refs, it would’ve been uglier. I would rank FSU in the top 5 next week.

LSU is an improving team but they shouldn't have been ranked in the top 10. Florida St. was clearly the better team tonight. LSU can finish about 8-4 but they are not a top 10 team.
