I love that you make cube decks/ picks that very few people can make work, and you can play them near flawlessly. Your daily videos are a highlight to my 12 hour work days.

You should look at adding Bitter Ordeal to the cube. Combos with the Fastbond/Crucible/Orb and Thopter/Sword as another non-damage win condition. Can also just work decently along side discard and counters in Blue/Black control. Just a thought. Great video as always! Thanks for the continued content.

Last game you could have played around endurance in the jar hand by balancing to 1 card in hand and after that play brain freeze
@xavaroche
@xavaroche 3 ай бұрын
Came here to say this. You know the endurance is either in his pre-jar hand, in the jar hand or in the 12 remaining cards. Your pre-jar hand is a No More Lies. So the correct play is to play the two lands, Balance down to one card in case the Endurance is in the jar hand (which was the case here and would have won the game), and play lands from the graveyard to keep up No More Lies in case the Endurance is in his pre-jar and he casts it end of turn (he can wait until upkeep but then at least you have No More Lies up for any other plays, and it can counter Endurance if he doesn't have a card to pitch and has to hard cast it).

Id like to see a video where you talk about your favorite mtg art/cards not so much in terms of power but nostalgia and unique effects etc

I dont know if its a coincidence but drawing lands for multiple turns in a row feels like it happens a lot, so brutal

To Luis, yes. Historically maybe the best player ever at drawing lands.

Lands are 15-18/40 of the cards in any limited deck, so you're going to draw them on consecutive turns relatively frequently. That's Magic. Deck building is all about these kinds of tradeoffs between resource acquisition/consistency vs. spending those resources on powerful things.

Specifically, if you have a 17-land deck and you start with three lands in your opener, then in a little more than one in every six games you play, your first two draw steps will both be lands.

LSV love the deck and your play. I need to say that not taking the mystical tutor on the wheel was insane. A second copy of balance or brain freeze is exactly what your deck wanted.

There were some really creative cubes at last year's cube con. It would be interesting to see you draft a desert cube, or a slesnya cube

Hello! What are your thoughts on Lifeline in a vintage cube? I'm thinking about adding it to my cube, but we don't get together often enough to just experiment.

I love the content LSV! Your videos make my day. In that last game, was it a consideration to use lotus field+crucible+fastbond to sac all your lands before balance? Kinda interesting as a painful backup to zuran orb

1:09:40 if you balance down to only brainfreeze in hand that forces them to pitch cast endurance in response and then you can brainfreeze for the win.

Monolith zirda isn’t a 2 card combo. It requires an outlet to win the game. Honestly I think monolith combos are a trap.

The stats from the last year or so worth of these videos in situations where one player makes infinite mana don’t seem to agree with you much here. It’s whiffed a couple times but that situation had a ridiculous win rate for the infinite mana player. The need for an outlet is known, they tend to have one if you’re running that combo set up, Pest Infestation, Retrofitter, Forth, Upheaval, Ballista, the cube isn’t short of finishers that do well in this situation. The most recent win with the combo was last week with a particularly insane sequence starting with pest infestation that was on a one turn delay (which Luis could beat) that eventually turned into a kill that turn post maximum digging.

Anytime I see LSV pick up a fast bond in a deck that doesn’t need it and will perform badly in, I die a bit more on the inside. And lately, I might need to dig myself a grave
