Passed my exam this morning! I never fully understood the difference between bipolar I and bipolar II and you made it so simple! And I had 2 questions where I had to differentiate them!

I really like the way you outline these three dx and you explained it in a way that was easy for me to remember (1 wk, 4 days and 2 years) as a mnemonic way to remember Bipolar, Bipolar II and Cyclothymic D/O from most intense to least. Thank you Ray!!

Can you please explain the reason for the answer being Bipolar I in the first practice question and not Bipolar II. They both list similar risky behavior. What would be the distinct factor ?

1st practice question, I know you explained the answer, but I’m still a bit confused. If bipolar one is most severe with potential hospitalization, why would that be the choice when the question did not mention hospitalization?

@@mesutferhan7345 this for an exam. I encourage you to meet with a psychiatrist and request an evaluation. You can find one through psychologytoday.com which is the biggest mental health directory. You can find a therapist and psychiatrist on there. You can also call your insurance company and request a list of providers. Hope this helps 🙏🏾

@@raytubelcsw i am from iran. And checked too many of psychologists and psychiatrists for at least 9 years! Tested several pills and etc. But nothing at all happened to my discomforts. I think I have bpd and 90 percent I am sure about it ( I am engineer and used my analytic part of brain for it 😄 ) but none of doctors believe that I am ✅️. Now I haven't trust to them and want to find about it myself. And this iş not my first try for detection: in 2008, have had pain in stomach, after having struggle with doctors, found a peace of tissue in my .... . After going to pathology lab, they found that there is a tomour ( adenocarcinoma) in my colon ! 😄😄😄. OK, if this insisting in my manner isn't a sign of ocd, I want to help myself by this manner. I can't trust anymore to my country's doctors. Thank you for your informations. 👍
