As a youngster living in Exeter and travelling back and forth to Waterloo I am very familiar with these station layouts. However I did not know about the plans so thanks for the enlightening information.

Very interesting! How different things could have been if the LSWR or SR had succeeded. I found the maps very helpful - really appreciated.
