I agree. The flat turret should have very poor gun depression. Also, a small cramped turret should have a low DPM and poor view range. Russian bias strikes again.

Yea it makes no sense. Flat turreted tanks shouldn't be able to depress their guns. At least, from what I've learned from WoT about tank design.

@@taugrim back in the day gun depression was one of the stats WG did NOT like to mess with because "historical" and balance reasons make it a VERY big change. (I mean how often does the 140/62A debate devolve into that 1°). It is 100% a design trade off of the Russian bowl turret that was a compromise since the Russians didn't expect to fight in mountains AND wanted to maximize protection on the advance while minimizing weight, having a turret roughly 1/2 the frontal profile of contemporary NATO tanks achieves both of those goals at the cost of crew comfort and depression angles. (Sometimes elevation as well depending on breech setup) In contrast to NATO tanks designed to fight from emplaced or elevated positions where the plan was to present a small effective target using natural cover as the Russians closed in. (This is also why Cold War era NATO tanks tend to have absolutely obnoxious commander cupolas, because the real life situation was the tank driving the COMMANDER up to get eyes over a ridge to decided whether to take the whole tank up to engage, obviously the cupola is an absolutely TINY target while allowing the commander to peek in safety from infantry fire). One of my big annoyances with this game is camo has never been reworked for balance reasons and so short tanks get an artificial gameplay advantage, (on top of slightly harder to hit which is a discussion unto itself) AND NOW they are also giving tanks that have or should have historically bad gun depression better depression for gameplay reasons without nerfing the benefits of being a shorter bowl turreted tank. This tank managed to fit 600+ hp engine into that hull, with a turret that offers 7° depression without clipping the roof? Apparently every real world tank designer must not have been good at their jobs since they missed such an obvious idea. Compare LT432 to RU251 to see the compromises needed to get a tank to have depression, a very low profile, a decent gun, and a relatively large engine into a tiny frame. There were a LOT.

6 months later, this is still one of my favourite tanks. In this video I had a completely unskilled crew. Not even 6th sense. Now (partly thanks to christmas and the santa commander), this tank has my best crew. It's an absolute monster. First tank I pick every single time I play frontline. It also excels at ramming amx light tanks and can hilariously push the t8 ones along the ground mimicking an engine fire of ram damage.

I'd say it still has great survivability, not due to immense armour values but due to its incredibly low profile. Would be such a pain to try and hit especially in tanks with bad gun handling

The LT-432 has 160mm effective on the frontally hull and 200mm on the turret. This is impenetrable for many tier 6-7 tanks without premium ammo.

The LT-432 is the strongest premium light tank in the game. It has excellent armor, camo, and a good gun.

@@taugrim Thanks. Also, type 64 and M41 were made before light tank MM was changed, so every light was moved one tier down including them, but they didn't change at all. Imagine putting a defender at tier 7, or a KV2 at tier 5, or Maus/Obj140 at tier 9. That's why they became really good. People already paid for them and there wasn't any complaints. This thing however, was made after the light MM changes. That makes me think that whoever designed it and put it like this must not be the sharpest crayon in the box. Kind of anmoying that they would make a tank that is better than another tank that was already balanced and then moved down one tier with no changes. Lastly, thanks for teaching me how to play overlord. I always hang around the middle too much.

There's been a trend of premium tanks being released that are meaningfully better than the tech tree counterparts. It's not good for game balance. I am glad to get a chance to play the LT-432 first-hand so I am speaking from experience and not just looking at the stats.

@@miladsammouh4741 I think balancing factor here is poor penetration with penetration drop over distance and it seems to catch fire a lot (i use food because i don't have good crew). For me it's on par with WZ132, but it's likely due to way better crew on WZ. Besides that WZ has better penetration, terrain resistence and alpha. It's just bigger and not so forgiving, but at least it does not feel completely obsolete. It's not so game braking as T32 vs. Defender (and T32 used to be great tank in 2014)

But in a 1000+ wn8 player's hands this thing is pretty damn good. Look at skill's video of this thing against lower tiers. It's not even close to fair

What a steal for this tank. It's undoubtedly my favourite premium in the game, and if I could choose only one to own, it would be the LT432. This comes from a 7 year player with many of the rarities including the hype 59, defender, scorpion g, e25, and LeFH. Armoured zoom pancake is love. Armoured zoom pancake is life. The tank really shapes up once you have 6th sense, BIA, and camo.

The silver pen of 176 is balanced. Certainly the premium ammo with 218 penetration provides much more reliable pen in some situations. For learning light tanks? No, absolutely not. The LT-432 is over-forgiving - if you learn to play lights with it, you'll pick up bad habits. Most lights are very fragile, whereas the LT-432 is not.

The LT-432 does better than most lights would with a fresh gold crew, because it already has very high camo and the armor and profile make it forgiving. To me, there are 3 very different levels of crews: 1. a crew without a full skill yet 2. a crew that has between 2-3 skills 3. a crew that has 4+ skills Obviously #1 is tough because you lack Sixth Sense and get ammo-racked a lot, and for a light or medium tank your camo is a work-in-progress. I find most tanks pretty playable with #2. With #3, you basically get a very polished experience, and don't have to sacrifice anything meaningful to get BIA. The gap between #1 and #2 is significant, less so between #2 and #3.

The other LT432 in the second game has only 100% crew ;) It's always a bit risky in a LT without 6th sense (I had no idea how much Taugrim kept me lit). As far as the rest of the tank performs, it's my favourite tank to just drive. Of course, camo and BIA would be nice additions to the tank. I would drive the LT432 over the Type 59 any day, if that's any indication of this tank's potential.

I'm sure they're already well aware of the concerns of the community. The question is whether they will meaningfully address the balance concerns.

The LT-432 is the best premium light tank at-tier in the game. Which 4 tier 8 premium light tanks are in the bundle? The NA site won't let me look at the bundle. Really it depends on how much of a fan of light tanks you are, and whether you want to either play them and/or use them for crew training as you grind up light tank lines.

I like the T92. I think the ELC EVEN 90 is gimmicky, but according to the global win rates most players do better in it than other lights. The M41 90 has an excellent gun, but is otherwise unforgiving to play: large, squishy, sluggish. The LT-432 is nuts as discussed in this video. I do own all 4 am and glad to have them for the sake of having tried them.

Eagle 7 is nothing special. Just another lightly armored 240 alpha american medium, like t23e6, pilot, pershing. Tiny differences but realisticall when playing them and dealing with them theyre all the same

The gun handling on the Eagle 7 is terrible between aim time and dispersion values.

@@miladsammouh4741 It's tier is 7. I mean you might argue that it isn't good armor for tiers above it, but you could make that case for many vehicles. I thought the tank was pretty good outside of it being slow, which certainly makes the armor seem weaker. When I had the thing on rental, it didn't seem like it had any armor though, albeit NA server constant up tiers.

Easiest way to tell is look at the first 10 seconds of the video for my crew skills.

Camo is just slightly better than T 92 LT. In fact, only the Elc EVEN 90 and BC 12t have better camo. 4tankersanddog has a video about its scouting power.

With my crews, the camo in the LT-432 (38) and Bat Chat 12t (37.8) are virtually identical. The LT-432 is a superb scout.

5 degrees of gun depression, the same DPM as the LTTB, and tone down the armor. The LT-432 has too much armor for its speed. Mobility and armor should always be on a seesaw - you can have one or the other, or a blend in the middle.

@@taugrim The breech in the flat turret can't depress like the one in the LTTB. We Americans designed our turrets tall and spacious to promote crew efficiency. I served in a M60A3 performing every crew position back in the 1980's. Function follows form. Soviet bias defies physics by having armor without mass penalty, cramped turrets for great camo with neither view range nor DPM penalty. WG creates a game that consistently displays a bias for Mother Russia. I have purchased 12 tier 8 premiums over the years, but I can't tolerate the MM and P2W premium tanks. I would love to buy the LT-432 due to all the pros that you clearly listed. With -3 depression and less DPM, the tank would be good but not be broken. The speed, armor and camo would entice players to shell out money without continuing to promote power creep. You have my continuing respect for playing without gold spamming despite the current MM. Good hunting.

Most of the tier 8 lights are lacking in terms of alpha. But the LT-432 has pretty fast reload.

All tanks in this game are meant to deal damage, including LTs. It's just that with LTs you don't want to over-focus on dealing damage if it means you're not spotting meaningfully.

The LT-432 is down-tiered obviously (lower HP, lower alpha, lower view range, etc), but at-tier the LT-432 is much stronger than the T-100 LT. The LT-432 is the strongest light tank at-tier in the game.

The dispersion reduction from VStab is worth it for most tanks but not select ones such as the LT-432, T-100 LT, and T92.

This is true, a friend (Avalon304) pointed that out to me. But the list of such tanks is pretty short. I'll have to remember to try out the T92 with Vents instead of VStab.

Agreed, the LT-432 armor is very trolly. I bounced that Strv S1 on my turret face and it has over 280 pen.
