Absolute brilliant technique, beyond what Poulenc ever dreamed for his brilliant Mozartean/Lisztian concerto. Poulenc himself is yelling bravo from his place of rest for this absolutely brilliant performance. I need to follow Lucas and Arthur Jussen. They are astounding!

Excellent performance. Assembling this concerto is a challenge, and you all did a great job. This piano concerto has obvious influence of Mozart (mostly the second movement). He was Poulanc’s favorite: “I prefer Mozart to all other musicians”. There’s a little of Ravel in it, as well. Your interpretation is organic, exciting, interesting, refined impeccable. It’s a pleasure to listen to and watch these two young pianists perform. Their musical interaction is delightful. Bravo to you two, the conductor and the orchestra!!!

We have here an absolute model of the way how to play this wonderful music. Arthur and Lucas overclass all their prestigious predecessors (french or not) with their interpretation at the same time precise, delicate and full of energy; sensitive and never affected, modern but never demonstrative. More than enthusiastic. I've heard them a few days ago in Biarritz (France). Their talent was undoubtedly a revelation for the present public standing up suddenly and shouting at the end of an incredible "Sacre du printemps". A great career has already began for them. Bravissimo !

This is some of the most exciting piano I have ever heard. I wish they would be in concert close to Ironton, Ohio. I would certainly have to go see them. Пуленк есть лишь сам Пуленк и ничего свыше того - вот и от этих прекрасных исполнителей тут требуется лишь одна «снайперская точность»; отрывистое попадание в точку. Баста.

Agree with all the praise below. As for the Poulenc...This. Is. It. But might I write a moment about the famed and venerable hall? Why on earth is it a sprint up and down stairs like Jerry Lewis in _Cinderfella_ (it gave him a heart attack) just to get some applause after the physical exertion of playing and conducting the piece itself? Do they make Herbert Blomstedt or Menachim Pressler take a hike to the mountains just to go offstage and come back? Heavens! What's the point? To make an entrance like Donald Trump on June 16, 2015? At least he had an escalator.

Incredibly great. But why must ALL pianists, especially here in this case, just fall into the conductor's arms after a performance? And then the frickin concertmaster too? With the ol' pat on the backs while hugging. Why won't the pianist just simply take a bow FIRST? Just a little one perhaps. And then acknowledge the conductor. The obligatory hug is just complete NONSENSE already. Maybe someday this lunacy will stop. Pianists DISS their audiences by running to the conductor immediately after the final note. They should acknowledge the audience FIRST, for God's sake.
@nowellgatica8194
@nowellgatica8194 4 жыл бұрын
I understand your point, but the soloists are acknowledging the team effort of the performance first instead of hogging all the initial praise. They aren’t dissing the audience; they’re respecting the other musicians on stage. Also I’ve seen pianists bow first and other types of soloists run to the conductor first, so there’s that...
