JOHNSON, LUCI BAINES. Younger daughter of Lyndon Baines and Lady Bird Johnson.
Topics, in order of discussion: Growing up as LBJ's daughter; politics in our family was a little bit like the family farm; A loving father; No body enjoyed giving more than Lyndon Johnson; LBJ uses the birth of his grandson to break the diplomatic ice with Kosygin at the Glassboro summit; He was always a school teacher. LBJ explains to Luci the rationale behind the signing ceremonies of the Civil Rights Act and Voting Rights Act; "Luci, were you in any way surprised that he emerged as a strong civil rights advocate?"; LBJ took the time on that historic occasion to send her a hand-written birthday note.

Luci’s son Lyndon was born the year my mother graduated from high school.

Luci is a lovely lady and has a soft southern voice . She's a perfect example of a beautiful , classy, southern lady. I'd love to meet her.

Stunning. As viewed today in 2021 post our Earth-Two-the-former-guy universe, Luci, coming to us from 2005, paints the deliciously refreshing picture of LBJ as the anti-tfg (the former guy). Makes coming from poverty, in the right hands, a possible building block for a good life. Makes you pity tfg.

LBJ, lifelong teacher. LBJ, who reveled in giving, over receiving. Luci who as a teenager resented having to go to Congress to accompany her father to sign the 1965 Civil Rights Act. In her telling, her father hands on head cringing his own daughter doesn’t get why this instance requires them to go to Congress. She explains / usually this duty (helping their father get a bill signed) was done in the WH. Educating Luci about his need for the teenage Luci to help him in his 1964 campaign, with lifelong character building lesson.

Listening to history it's real people, the southern mind revealed . The culture of today hardly believes the realities of the past , hopefully some realize validity of experience . Although not all revealed , should not some privacy be allowed .
