@@theacrocant35452 Nothing happened. I don’t know what that guys problem is. I’ve seen the scenes - Pav didn’t like the process (they had to do several takes and there was quite a fuss with camera men etc) he clearly wasn’t comfortable. Not as sunny and charming as usually but he wasn’t unpolite or anything. Just not as smiling and full of joy like he was here - and usually with people.

yeah it's just not a good rendition of this song. Just straightforward and emotionless. Yes, it's a funny song but it's most funny when the sadness is overdone.

Certo è una interpretazione radicalmente diversa dalle altre che si trovano su youtube. Ed è stupefacente, almeno per un incompetente come me, constatare come Pavarotti sia l'unico a sottolineare le qualità ritmiche della composizione, velocizzandola e cantando in staccato l'anafora. Il sorriso alla fine è perciò assolutamente in linea col suo approccio. Detto altrimenti, le versioni dei soprano ultralente mi addormentano: questa mi mette allegria, anche se qualcuno magari mi spiegherà che non è corretta esteticamente e filologicamente. Yes - but it seems that the song is actually ironic (didn't know that) so his attitude and facial expressions actually fits the song here perfectly. It explains a lot since his interpretations were always perfect. He always got the real meaning of the works he sang.

Mah, alla fine non mi pare l'espressione di un disperato. Dopodiché, non sarà magari all'altezza di intrpretazioni di alcune soprano qui su youtube dal punto di vista puramente vocale, però Pavarotti è l'unico che mi comunica la gioia che lui stesso prova cantando questo classico.

Loin d'être facile en effet, ce qu'il faut c'est garder un solide appui sans vouloir alléger le son, Pavarotti le fait très bien parce qu'il maîtrise entièrement sa voix, mais ne cherchez pas les nuances autant et tout devrait aller bien
