Repent and trust in Jesus. We all deserve Hell for our sins, such as lying lusting coveting and more. We can't save ourselves, but Jesus can save us. He died on the cross to save us for our sins and rose from the grave defeating death and Hell. You must put your faith in him only. He is the only way to Heaven. Repent and trust in Jesus. Caesar, Thank you for the message. I too can read the Simoni and Adami libretto and the published musical score. However, I was hoping that you might explain your reference to "listened with the heart," and provide some special psychological insights into the composer, especially since it was Puccini's last opera, and perhaps the significance of the celebrated aria. Most of all, your thoughts why Puccini, despite more than adequate time, was unable to complete the final, great duet at the time of his death to his satisfaction. Cordially, Mr. Jim O'Brien

@JisforJenius

And yet less than a hundred years ago, opera was very much a performance for the everyday public, not only the elite. My Italian parents were poor as church mice, but would go to the opera while courting. Probably not in the best opera houses and probably not the best seats, but it was far from entertainment for just the "elite". Maybe that was just the Italy of the 50's. But my father was as blue collar as you could get and he had a massive collection of Opera records. Different era, different culture, i suppose. But yes, Pavarotti and his divine voice transcends time and music.

@@helowgaes7544 I love opera and I am not "elite". My brother is a blue collar fitter and turner who works shifts in a Steel works and he listens to opera when he's in the mood. Because when it's done well, it's absolutely beautiful. He also loves Elvis and Queen and a tonne of other artists. It depends on what you've been raised on. On what appeals to your ear. Doesn't make it just for the "elite". At least not in my experience.

This is a misconception. Opera was never elite. Going to the opera or going to the theatre was like going to the cinema nowadays. If you think about the story of Turandot, it is similar to a romance film today.

I keep returning to selected videos to hear Pavarotti deliver this thrilling anthem, as only he can! Always, I tear up with reverent joy. The expressive passion of the symphony director is also wonderfully moving.

I can’t ever listen to this or Caruso without crying wtf. I think he was an angel direct from the heavens we experienced here on earth. That voice was NOT human😩🙏🏿🙏🏿 RIP to the GREATEST VOICE OF ALL TIME.

My mom had dementia, but she always remembered this song,...always. I played this song every night and it was a joy to her and to me. It gave her comfort and joy every time. Eternal thanks!

Your mother had exquisite taste in music. Proof that good music is contagious, often seared into the soul. Opera, I always say, is the actual voice of the angels, and is bona fide gospel.

His facial expression at the end was just poetic it looked like he was holding art inside him which can be heavy and when he finally let it go he had a huge sigh of relief truly majestic!

I watch this at least twice each week. Even the man himself looked overwhelmed that he performed it in perfect time with note perfection. I very much doubt the incredible Luciano had even heard of the word auto tune. Absolutely amazing no matter how many times you watch this.
