Towards the end she takes each element and ties it in a big fat bow! Genius!

The way this girl sings, her mannerisms, her slow drawl and pronunciation is absolutely enchanting. I can’t get enough.

Damn she's friggin amazing! 25ish years ago i had SNL on TV in one room and I was in another room and I remember them announcing her, and I heard her sing Changed the Locks for the very first time. I stopped what i was doing and stood there mesmerized. As soon as she was done I left the house and went to the music store and bought that CD. True Story. I've never done that before or after.

This is the most powerful song I think I've ever heard of any genre. This is a woman that knows something about an abusive relationship. I can't quit listening to it....I just can't believe it took me to so long to discover it.

In our home we are watching the series on country music by Ken Burns and company. Our family recalls a lot, I repeat, a LOT of that history. But there was and is not any better country than this song. Lucinda touches the heart of country. Period.

If you pause at 0:18, Lucinda's band (L-R) John Jackson (electric guitar), Richard Price (bass guitar), Kenny Vaughan (electric guitar), Jim Lauderdale (acoustic guitar, harmonica), Fran Breen (drums) and Randy Leago (Hammond B3 organ).
