The song is about an old lover and my best friend, Clyde Joseph Woodward III, "CJW". She wrote it after he passed away and I spread his ashes off the Lake Charles, Louisiana bridge. Rest In Peace, Clyde, I miss you everyday!

Lucinda is one of my favorite musicians. She sings from the heart. We need more like her and less of this commercial sound we're getting drowned with today

u mean the soulless drivel? LOL. Commercial isn't an insult to me. Elvis, The Beatles, etc were very commercial.

When I hear this song and the words 'Did an Angel whisper in your ear, I can't hold the tears back because it makes me think of my wife Annie who died suddenly of cardiac arrest. No last words, no goodbyes no chance to tell her how much I loved her, but I hope an angel helped guide her in the afterlife

The song is about an old lover of hers, Clyde Joseph Woodward. She wanted to spread his ashes off the bridge in Lake Charles but was told it was not permitted. Apparently she did it anyway. Thus, 'now your home is in Lake Charles no matter what they say' line. I believe Clyde sufferd from depression, (run as far as you could go, did an angel whisper in your ear, take away your fear, in those black moments." ) and ultimately over came the fear of dying and did so.

He actually died of cirrhosis. She was on a plane from L.A. to see him before he went. She didn't make it in time. There are a couple of good articles written about the two of them, his passing, and the song he inspired. Sad tale.

If you look at her gaze it is up and out. She doesn't sing TO us, only FOR us. She writes so well, the lyrics say it all. She doesn't seem to be interested in making us feel as though these are her feelings, rather, she wants us to feel what the song's characters are feeling. IMHO.
