Melee usually doesn't awaken the ball either though, you mostly had to walk into it to make it work again. There's also rare moments where it doesn't work for a few hits but then suddenly starts working even if you don't bump into it. It's odd.

Carrier has arrived.

I remember year 1; I really liked to play Goalie, it was my best position; extremely rarely I would let through any shots. As time went on I moved on to being a Striker cause I wasn't as good anymore. Back then, I had no idea, but these days I know - for some reason back then I had 50~ ping or less, upcoming years I averaged like 90 for some reason. Everything went more or less great until 2020 when it just completely broke. My friend has around 35~ ping and the ball sometimes no-regs, but for me it just never hits at all. I could still solo trickshot as a Striker and stuff and sometimes make it work but anything requiring interceptions like being a Goalie and/or trying to counter-boop at any point just doesn't work at all; which for high level play is basically 100% required. I completely gave up trying to play competitively, when back then even if I had a disadvantage I could still overpower everyone in theory, but these days the handicap is so large that even if I play like a top 1 player I'll probably get beaten by diamonds or something. It's not fun anymore, just pure annoyance. The punch after booping used to be a common strategy(probably still is, its just boop cooldown is so tiny now), especially for those needed to counter-boop or something like that. If they counter your counter, you have another chance. It also can definitely be used just in case you miss(or no-reg) your boop, just to be safe, but yeah, it didn't always work. It's pretty bad these days. My friend reports the boops not registering more often this year, his latency is more or less the same. I climbed to around top 20 somewhat casually with him being the goalie back then, so I'm positive he's right. It's unfortunate, really.

I never deleted the streams, there is a thing/problem with KZfaq that if a stream is longer than 12 hours it wont be archived, which I did not know at the time. I don't know if it's still a thing but that's why it shows up as unavailable, it was like that ever since the end of the stream. Yeah, OW2 is just a disaster. I'm putting out the things that I wanted and/or have been bothering me for a long time just to get it over with, to at least not waste everything completely. Sure, I'll check out the PvE that is coming, but I definitely wont stick around for nearly as long as I did. Not after everything. Best of luck with your future endeavours, friend!

It really shouldn't be like this. You may have noticed that you might even hear an "impact" sound effect when you boop/punch, signaling that you hit it, but it doesn't do anything. Something is definitely not working properly.

From what little I've seen, it is very similar and I wouldn't be surprised if it has the same exact problem. The ball is mostly slower in Volleyball though, so it's not that apparent. I can confirm that if the ball is very fast I have not been able to hit it, even if you hear the hit sound effect; just like in Lucioball.

I rarely have had moments when I have 50 ping, and still like 80%+ (if not all) of the shots still didn't register that was shot by another player. My friend has just below 40 and he's sometimes getting noregs. It's crazy.

Thanks! It's a lot of trial and error. I position a camera that is mostly always static, then I just make a series of actions that control dummy bots and other things, then just refine and add until it looks good enough. It takes a while to get it to look decent, but it works!

I wish blizzard cared more about a lot of things ;-; Was it actually fixed though? I'm pretty sure I recall playing a match and still was unable to play properly, but I could be wrong. I know exactly what you mean with quickplay lucioball. I was a top striker and I queued with a top goalie, these games were completely one-sided like 99% of the time lol

@@CarrierArcnight For me hit reg was completely fixed late into lucio ball's run last year but i also play on 7ms instead of the 70+ you have

​@@LeonOwO Can't speak for low ping players but for me the hit reg was always good, I could play with 400 ping and it would work, I just had to imagine a 400ms delay so I'd have to play in the future lmao. Times it would seem there was no registration was just a mistake of some kind. The way it is now, there's basically nothing I can do, it will just not work whatever time I boop. Low ping always kept working as much as I saw. The year it broke (forgot which it was) it simply made it as your ping increases, it started getting less likely your boop would work. 40 seemed to roughly be the break point, though my friend still had very obvious no regs.

I could try to optimize it a bit for next time. The way it works right now is the dummy bot falls behind depending on your ping. So for example, if you have 100ms, if you're moving straight ahead, the dummy bot will be 100ms worth of distance/time behind you. Also, if you boop, it takes 100ms for him to boop. I don't think it's possible to fix this but I could try. But again, like I mentioned, it's better than having nothing work at all.

I don't play the game anymore, I'm only shedding what I've wanted to make for the longest time, it would be a waste to not make/talk about what has been on my mind for years. I'm making something else but it's another decently big project so its gonna take a bit. The idea of breaking the game sounds interesting, might try something one day.

It's extremely likely that you weren't the one at fault, it's really inconsistent even with good ping.
