probabilmente una delle 50 migliori performance dal vivo della storia della musica, in generale, non di un italiano, non di questa canzone, non di quell anno o cose del genere....ma di sempre. Il livello di interpretazione, la potenza, l anima, la melodia, le faccie dei musicisti, il fatto che sia una sua canzone, i cambi di ritmo e d intensitá...l esplosione nel secondo ritornello, anticipata dal fatto che sai gia che sará immenso, perche si sente nella voce prima, nel bridge, quasi trattenuta, per non esprimere ancora tutta la potenza di quello che é un tenore lirico leggero straordinaio, cantando nel migliore dei modi la sua miglior canzone, inarrivabile nella sua genuinitá, irraggiungibile nella sua eternitá....Grazie Lucio, riposa in pace

J’ai entendu cette très belle chanson interprétée par Mr.Pavarotti et il la chante avec toute la technique d’un chanteur aguerri. Monsieur Dalla la chante avec son cœur, avec ses tripes, avec quelque chose que personne d’autre ne peut donner. Il la chante avec la profondeur de ses sentiments.

Sounds like ignorance but I'll ignore it...he wrote the song, the lyrics have deep meaning to him so ofc it will resonate with him more than other singers. Only he can give the best performance of this song...has nothing to do with Italian passion, since actually this is an immigrant song about going to America and leaving the old country behind.

@@Jameslawz i have my personnal rating on this song. I'd say the top 5 perfomers are : Lucio Dalla, Mireille Mathieu( duo with Gianni Morandi), Lara Fabian, Andrea Bocelli, Lucianno Pavarotti. All of them are great and it's about personnal preferences between power and emotion. I love this song, it's a masterpiece.

Ero in barca tra Sorrento e Capri con Angela Baraldi: stavamo ascoltando le canzoni di Roberto Murolo quando si ruppe l'asse del motore. Andammo a vela per qualche miglio e poi chiamai un amico, il proprietario dell'Hotel Excelsior Vittoria, che ci trainò al porto. In attesa che aggiustassero la barca, ci invitò a passare la notte in hotel, proprio nella suite dove morì Caruso. Lì c'era tutto, anche il pianoforte, completamente scordato. Quella sera un altro amico, giù al bar La Scogliera, mi raccontò di un Caruso alla fine dei suoi giorni, innamorato di una giovane cantante cui dava lezioni. Era uno stratagemma per starle vicino, ma l'ultima sera, sentendo la morte arrivare, fece portare il piano sulla terrazza e cantò con un'intensità tale che lo sentirono fino al porto. Mi sono inventato la scena dei suoi ultimi momenti, quando pensa alle notti là in America. Era un passaggio che nel 1986 per me, che stavo per partire per un tour negli Stati Uniti, aveva un significato importante. Per me quel 'Te vojo bene assaje' messo in quel punto della canzone significava darle il marchio della napoletanità. Da sempre nutro un grande amore per Napoli, per la sua cultura, dalla scrittura alla filosofia fino alle canzoni: è una città che mi ha sempre catturato. Lucio Dalla

The point is that sometimes the composer is not the best interpreter of his song, there's another artist who makes the song his own and brings new thrills. That catharsis at 2:01. Heard several versions of Caruso, and this one aside from originality, for sure, is the best one. A piece that is calm, and exploding and swirling emotionally at the same time. Truly amazing song.

Para los qué amamos la lírica lo clásico tan romántico y legítimo sentir del alma...Lucio Dalla interpreta su obra Caruso, en homenaje al gran tenor Enrico Caruso, romántico cómo es el italiano entrega el alma... cómo yo recordando cuando era una niña hice esa obra de teatro en mi escuela,junto con mis compañeros yo era Caruso...y sé oyeron muchos aplausos...todos parece qué les gustó..desde entonces amo al teatro, danza, música es el Arte q lo llevo en mis venas...ahora escribo prosas... ojalá y sea para una obra de teatro..en eso estoy... humildemente...pero con audacia y tranquilidad...paz espiritual y amor a lo qué realizo....gracias...♥️🌹👩‍💼 Sorrento - Italia🇮🇹💔

Wow!!! Thank you Lucio for writing one of the most beautiful songs ever. This just takes my breath away - Stunning! There are so many Artists who sing Caruso so amazingly great, but there's something so authentic about the way Lucio delivered this song. RIP Lucio. :(

When listening this I remember the sunset over Rome, and want that once again, and I want to eat gelato in sienna once again, and drink vino in Venezia. A truly beautiful country, sadly I visited only once even tho it's not that far from where I live.
