I mean yes obviously but it's not unheard of. Google Phineas Gage. He was a railroad worker in the 1800s and got a metal rod blown through his skull and his brain. He was awake all the way to the doctor and eventually fully recovered (only his left eye wasn't working anymore and he started to have seizures later). The only other thing that happened afterwards was that he completely changed his personality. He was known to be nice and humble before, afterwards he became impulsive, impatient and quite unpleasant to be with. It was one of the first examples that suggested that the brain plays a role in your personality and that damage could change your personality. It's one of the first things anyone learns in a psychology course at uni.
