On a rifle scope, spotting scope or video device (I'm talking about rifle optics). The closest adjustable ring to your eye is called the 'Diopter ring', and what it does is it allows you to dial in your specific prescription of the glasses or contact lenses you might wear so that you don't have to wear your actual glasses (or contacts) while using the scope, and see the reticle and 'Objective' clearly. The lens furthest away from your eye is called the 'Objective' lens. The 'Objective' is what the first lense in between the subject (objective), and the viewer observing it. That's where your can zoom in further (based on the design of the particular scope) to see. With some scope optics, the zoom is in forward, but most are to the rear, forward of the diopter ring.

Thank you Rob!!! I needed this video in 2022 I got hospitalized and loss a lot of my strength and mobility. This pass Thursday I made a bad shot on a deer, I know it’s dead but it expired far. To far for me to follow/track and my little brother isn’t the best tracker. Long story short I couldn’t sleep for a couple nights and it was a doe not a trophy buck thank Jesus.

Haha. I missed a deer 3 TIMES before connecting on shot #4 back in November. I was using my old .30-30 and forgot that it shoots a bit high at under 100 yards. I used the top of the bead on shot #4 and "Badda Bing, Badda Boom". I hadn't fired that rifle in about 3 years. My advice: Take a few practice shots!!

I really wish more people could admit to messing up. Thanks for reminding everyone that there is no substitute for range time; hunting, self defense, or even successful plinking. You can even learn dry firing in the basement. Practice, practice, practice. I am glad Sarah harvested her buck, and my mouth was watering as you ate that. Brother i just closed out a successful season thanks to you i got pkenty of meat in freezer did miss one decent buck but next year God willing. I also got some hunting land 200 acres borders huge horse and cattle fields in the center is a swamp super thick lots of sign think its beddings area dont wanna spook them i set cam up friday today Sunday is last day of season in East Tennessee but next season i will have my own private land to get away from the public land some. Stick with it. I hunted for 5 years before killing one. Saw a few, missed a few, but honestly didn't really want to kill one ... just liked being outdoors. One day, I decided ... it was my time.

I knew i did the right thing subscribing to this channel. A really great family eating from tbe outdoors. I call it god given food organically grown. Your daughter is awesome (sorry i don't know how many kids you hàve yet) but she is awesome like her family. So happy too see you having fun and feeling well after the stroke. I’ve been watching your videos for years and you and your family give me hope and pride……. I’ve lived for 7 years as a chronic alcoholic Ive had multiple seizures and other problems because of it I’ve been on deaths door many times… one thing that seemed to help me is your videos and how you live your life… your so inspiring and so uplifting, you life everyday too the fullest and that’s how I aspire to be…. I’m now 4 months sober and I’m out fishing/ hunting and just enjoying the world…. I thank my FAMILY AND YOU for helping me along this journey……. I just got home from a walk on our trails here in town and saw about 7 deer. They’re pretty used to people around here so you sometimes you happen to be within 10-15 ft of them. Pretty cool!

Where I live, the Texas deer hunting season typically starts in November and extends through January, sometimes even into February. Hunting deer is an extremely challenging task for rifle users like Winchester enthusiasts.
