The control that Toby had in that first pass was amazing, in literally a millisecond he realised he'd gone wrong, and he instinctually landed an insanely damaging fail perfectly with a roll that most humans would have no ability to pull off, with just a few nasty bruises. Takes the time to wait to see if it's a nasty injury, and reasesses on that basis. Takes it easy. He's just one of those guys who is a consummate professional with great ability.

I thought the same. It wasn't a coincidence or luck that he didn't bang his head. He had enough awareness and control in the air to avoid it. That's what you get with an expert level of ability and experience. A direct head bang at that speed could be fatal, let's face it.

@blate dake nope, look closer with 0,25% at 28:08 you can see he literally has his head in both hands for a miliseconds, which is enough to lower the force on the head, so it won't hit the concrete

I mean, flips are actually technically not that hard after you have practiced them, they are just dangerous. Like in gymnastics, the stuff which is very flashy looking is not necessarily that hard, but is potentially very dangerous.

@@Dave1507 I think that the inherent risk of the hobby incentivises a level of empathy and community that is lacking in other creative/athletic pursuits. When it's all about the pay-check or the medal, why would you care about the other contestant? When it could be life or death or at least serious injury, and the only real "prize" is getting stoked on each other's cool tricks and ideas, you develop a deep sense of camaraderie and mutual encouragement.

I really love this account and the free running community. You all appear to be such laid back people who can joke around while simultaneously being some of the best athletes and most fearless humans ive seen. I love that free running interacts with the urban landscape and features of buildings. People risk their lives to do insanely cool moves that require years of training and failing but never quitting. Another thing I love is that you really need nothing besides the landscape and yourself, theres great simplicity in that. I would tell anyone to check out storror and wish all the storror crew best of luck in the future. Love from the U.S.
