I don't think he's underrated, he's just not super mainstream and I prefer that. The moment he goes mainstream, we will lose the authenticity with his music and it's going to sound like he's chasing a record. Let's just keep appreciating him and streaming his stuff lol

The message of the song… the message behind the video is perfection. It’s a relationship between two ex’s. They’re battling their own demons (his is being a celebrity) (hers is knowing when to stay or go) while trying to maintain some form of relationship. Every time they try it goes to shit. So they try again. He’s explaining his point of view. It’s raw. And y’all notice towards the end of the video she’s still there but peeping behind the curtain? This a relationship that no one knows about. At this time, it’s better to keep it hidden than to fill it with the concerns of people from outside looking in. But in secret he is still concerned about looking foolish for letting her back in and out of his life. It’s two hearts wanting to do right but simply can’t. One wants to give up. I think the sample is so fitting because if you think about it, the dynamics of the relationship described in this song is enough to drive a person “Halfcrazy”. The constant pushing and pulling, bringing you up and then letting you down… it all takes a toll on your mental and emotional well-being. Him using “over and over” shows that this idea of going/being halfcrazy is like a never ending cycle.

Had to let go of someone I super loved recently because of it. Connected in a way I’ve never connected to anyone but the person would just disappear and then come back and say sorry work was overwhelming or school was overwhelming or some other thing or simply pretend like things were normal... the hyper connection only to disappear definitely takes a toll on mental

@@oeu3669 sorry you had to deal with that. As cliche as it sounds, just focus on you. Do things you love, learn something new, etc.. whatever you can to help you get your mind off that person. Always remember: the things a person does to hurt you says more about them than it does about you. We’re all on our own journeys. Maybe their actions were not intentional, maybe they were stringing you along. You’ll never know. Only thing you can do is learn from this and press forward. Best of luck!

Last year when he was heavy into making the album he made little posts on IG. One one he was singing the chorus to "Superstar" & another he was singing "Shit, Damn, Motherfucker". So those could possibly be used samples

It took me a while to realize but this man is a genius. He knew what he was doing with this song. He literally took musiq soul child half crazy song and turned it upside down into a deep mental aspect of what it feels like to try to move on from somebody instead going half crazy over somebody from losing them. He did an opposite theme of musiq soul child song and that what makes this so freaking GOOD!!!!

One of the best songs I've ever heard. With one of the sweetest voices singing it. They got a lot of singers, entertainers whatever you wanna call it. This man is on another level. With all the controversy surrounding him he kept being him. Which I thought was kinda weird because his music was so influential and excepted by the world. Basically he was a musical/vocal genius

Half crazy was and is still one of my absolute favorite songs. The lyrics hit deep for me. On both of these. The beat is such a sad one, because I have been through Musiq’s version, now currently stuck in Lucky’s version. Musiq is a hard man to top..Lucky Daye OVERSTOOD the assignment.
