She has always been a sweetheart. She was so empathetic with Jackson. Then she was always there when a new rookie joined in, be it Aron or Celina. She was always there for Tamara. And would bring gifts to anyone who is sick or is going through childbirth or any health issues. She helped Tim with studies and when he was dealing with his family issues be it his sister or father. She is the best....!

Okay, so I, just like everyone else here LOVED his "i am now" however i just wanna say, i see everyone mentioning how he closes his eyes and melts into her, but did anyone else notice that after he says "i am now" she ALSO melts into him, closes her eyes and hugs him tighter? That itself is such a beautiful and sweet part of it to me. Not only did he melt into it, but she also melted when he said that 🩷 my favorite Chenford scene so far! So heartachingly beautiful!

I love how they've written a real, grown-up relationship. Lucy can be angry at him and still love him, still comfort him, still be there for him. This one scene shows what it means to hold space for someone's healing. He is healing childhood trauma which takes a lot of courage. Lucy makes him want to be a better man. That has been clear for several seasons.

They will be together again in time, that hug was the beginning of healing for both of them. Hopefully, Tim will get help from a good therapist who isnt selling info to criminals in the future. They still love each other, they just need to grow as individuals first

Does this remind anyone else of when they went to see his dad? Tim's making sure he's not like him with the "Tim Tests". Lucy hugs him in the exact same way. She pulls him down to her level to hug him. And he just melts against her. This gives me hope because there's still that pull for Lucy to want him to feel safe and Tim's willing to be vulnerable and open up.

The break up was real and they're both growing as people outside of the relationship. Tim was always one to keep his mouth shut in his own stuff and his opinions on things (his exwife, Lucy's UC, etc) because he thought that made things better/easier/perfect, but the situation with his old military friends and contemplating murder etc made him realize that burying the past and pretending everything is fine wasnt serving him or his desire for a purely healthy relationship with Lucy. So, he's working on himself without the distraction of Lucy (lucy is very kind and empathetic but Tim needs to do the work himself and be able to fail without the pressure of not worrying her). Lucy is hurt, obviously, but she can be overly invested in people at her own expense so the breakup is helping her stay out of the messiness and work on getting better at her job. I think everyone (including them) knows they're end game, but Lucy is more mad that she cant "help" Tim during this time. Tim, on the other hand, is trying to prove to himself that he CAN help himself and be the best version of himself once he confronts all of his demons. If I i were Lucy, I'd be ticked off too, but objectively I can see this ISN'T about Lucy at all.

This is such a beautiful scene and it actually confirms what we all hoped for/expected - they still love each other. ❤️‍🩹💕 Broken hearts can be mended. So well played by both actors. 👏 The relaxed expression in Tim's face and Lucy's hug show how much they missed each other. Of course she still has every right to be mad, but when Tim finds another - trustworthy - therapist things will get better.

Although I really want them to be together, I am really starting to think the separation was necessary. Lucy has always been so much more in the relationship than him. He definitely did a lot for her, probably more than anything he ever did for anyone else. But that doesn't change the fact that he has been lying to even himself. He was not okay with her being UC. In the season 5X20 when she asked if he would be okay when she would go to long term assignments, he clearly wasn't okay but couldn't admit it. He is scared and losing her would destroy him AGAIN. Because being in the police is scary, being a UC is scarier. If the relationship really has to work, they are going to need to put a lot of work into it. And him always hiding his feelings is not gonna work.

I always felt that too. She was always more in the relationship BUT NOT because she was more into him than he was her, NOT AT ALL. He just genuinely I don’t think knows how to truly be inlove/partnership with someone. He holds everything in, and eventually your partner is gonna feel like it’s one sided cause you won’t truly open up.

@@bleudiamondbleu Or probably he did give all he could give into his relationship with Isabel but that relationship did not succeed and in the end Isabel said to him that he was too much for her to handle. That might have broken him a little bit. And now he just can't express himself. And his only attempt to go to therapy is now completely useless. So they are going to need some time to get through this.

@@aishwaryat3542I actually don’t think he ever was like that with Isabel because she was just as damaged as him. She admitted so when she was working UC with Lucy in the car. I actually think this was alluded to when Tim & Lucy were talking about UC work and he told her “I know for a fact you don’t tell me everything that happens to you UC” and she said “No, you know that Isabel didn’t”. I think Tim was safe in his relationship with Isabel bc he knew she kept stuff from him, so it made it okay for him to keep stuff from her. (things from their past, regrets, guilt, etc) They NEVER had the intimacy he & Lucy would have: the intimacy required to be with Lucy - and I think that’s why he broke up with her. He’s KNOWS he can’t hide with Lucy & that’s scary for Tim. For 2 reasons. 1. He’s never been given unconditional love, not even from his childhood & he doesn’t know how to operate in it. Nor can he fathom that he’s worthy of being given it in the first place. & 2. He’s scared that if Lucy knows every truth about him, his past, regrets, guilt, etc, that’ll she’ll look at him differently. and he can’t handle that.

@@bleudiamondbleu I do agree. But I feel really sad for Lucy. Her childhood was no walk in the park. She has such a strained relationship with her parents. They have never been with her when she needed support even during the caleb thing and not even now with the promotion or break-up. She had a little support from Tamara but now she is completely alone. She only discussed her feelings with Sergeant Grey. She gives so much to everyone but she is completely alone in her pain. I feel like giving her a hug. 🥺

You know, since episode one, Tim had three girls in his life. His wife Isabelle and the two other teachers. Then, later he had two girls in his life, the other girl teacher (can't remember her name) and Lucy. Now, he still has them but, I'm pretty sure that Lucy is his love and the one he goes to for support and help
