Now we’re talking! Amid all today’s “custom” kits, good old Classic Maple is still king. Excellent drumming too. Made my day.

God, Carter demos the drums so satisfyingly, quickly becoming one of my favorite youtube drummers. Not only does he actually play ALL of the toms at a broad dynamic and technical spectrum, he also tunes the drums so that they work together with their mounting hardware for full resonance. Any other showcases on a 7-piece would be greatly appreciated!

Nice setup of drum sizes, they sound perfect like a musical scale. This right here is a balanced drum setup from high to low, no more is needed. Could cover just about any style of music with this kit along with a double bass pedal added.

I've watched a million demos, and this the one of the best (if not THE best) I've seen. No talking, very pleasant fills and grooves that would actually be usable in songs, no single hits and waiting 3 minutes for the decay, no shrill or annoying cymbals, just perfect. Thank you.

Good job Ludwig. These have a beautiful warm and connected sound.

In my personal opinion of playing many brands over 40 years, Lugwig is the only brand that can play any music from any era in 1 night. From jazz, blues, rock or metal all can be played with almost zero adjustments after tuning.

That 16x15 !!.....you found the sweet spot where it wants to speak!, gorgeous!!. The 14x13 is juicy as well !! That Elm snare is hands down one of the best sounding wood shells I've heard in many years!!

Cool video. I used to have that exact kit, with that exact sizes configuration (except it had an 18" floor tom as well with the 14" as rack-mounted, and a 6.5x14 Supraphonic snare). That kit was also black. I loved that damn thing, such a great drum kit. But, I sold it and downsized to a 4-piece Gretsch Catalina (white marine pearl). Love my Gretsch kit kit too!

Having seen this any numerous other videos you have posted I have to compliment you Carter McLean - not only for your superb playing but also your sublime tuning and micing/mixing skills. Whatever kit and heads you use they always sound stunning.

Carter is unreal. Phenomenal drummer and Ludwig IMO the best.

Phenomenal touch on the drums this guy. Could make a bunch of pans and boxes sound good. All about the player. The drums yes but to play dynamically and with accuracy is key! Excellent playing carter.

The tone of this kit is amazing. I have one. I haven't mic'd it up, but look forward to doing so. This is so rich and full. I'm blown away by this sound. The playing is exceptional and shows how a great kit should sound when professionally played. Thanks for this.... now where are the GE videos.....
