The luffing 360 or frontside 360 while riding a wave is a really fun and not too scary move to try out. Landing one clean on the wave is still a work in progress for me, but I thought I would make a little tutorial so that you guys could try it out with me. #wingfoil #360 #waveriding

Nice work! This goes to my list to practice. If i may suggest a topic for video: how you set up your footstraps for waveriding&jumping. Especially with boots as those are mandatory in cold conditions. I have got stuck many times with booties and constantly worry about ankle/foot injury. I think many people would be very interested about this subject as it hasn't discussed in details too much. And yet it is one of the most essential things when wingfoiling wave/freestyle setup :)

I talk about it a little in my “How to Boost” video. I’m going to be doing a complete How to Wingfoil series this summer from the beginning, so I’ll be sure to get very specific on footstraps. Thanks for the suggestion!

I didn’t understand it when I saw you doing these as kick outs. Now I get it. Landing on the top of the wave with a downhill runway in front of you will definitely be the key to riding out of these. I was trying toeside straight airs like this yesterday and was looking for that same landing high with a runway to recover. Totally doable. Now I gotta find a way to do these goofy. Or just use your technique to do it as a full frontside rotation like surfers do. Interesting.

The kick outs are still a work in progress to figure out the best way to ride out the other direction. But if you do the kick out setup and hit the lip on a big enough wave you can land back in the wave. And you only really need to rotate 180 degrees because you did the other 180 going up to the lip. A big meaty wave would definitely help the landing, but for me I think the biggest issue is just board to weight ratio. If my board kept me on top of the wave I could get back up on foil with a small wave I think.

@@wingmanfoilclub bigger wave more power to push you on landing. You could also stop drinking beer or eating fast food. One or the other. 😀

@Hdip yeah but unless you land perfectly and fast you sink. Even on a big wave it will be hard. I actually don’t drink. But the junk food is a problem. Hopefully getting back on track with the diet in 2024.
