Ive never watched one piece and i have no ill will towards it but if this is one of the greatest fights in the show then the other ones must be pretty bad

@@zmerk253 well, except haki doesn't work on every power like this. Haki doesn't actually negate the effects of devil fruits either, it just allows you to hit a logia or paramecia. It doesn't negate the effects

@@GrowingDownUnder but if you use haki against anything that is a byproduct of a devil fruit, like flames or something then it will bypass its powers (if the user is strong enough) All luffy would have to do is use 2nd stage armament and destroy the slow beam before it even reaches him not to mention observation haki to see in the future. So even if you are slowed you can see ahead and move in ways your attacker didn’t expect basically rendering the slow beam useless

@@zmerk253 No dude, because haki doesn't work like that. Haki can be used as armour to protect you and it allows you to hit a devil fruit user but there's some devil fruit abilities that haki does not work against. Examples being apoo sound, foxy slow slow beam, law's room where he can cut them in half, etc...Foxy's power only has to make contact with any object and that's how it works. Haki doesn't prevent it making contact and it also does not nullify his slow ability. That's one of the reasons it's so op honestly is haki doesn't protect you from it.

Those fights aren't fun tho. It's obvious the strong character is gonna win

Foxy should’ve been his opponent first instead of Crocodile and Enel because both has powerful and broken DF, are obviously far experienced in combat than Foxy. Foxy happened to be stronger plot wise, it is really their mistake for showing up Crocodile and Enel too early.

Not quite like them but he put on a good sideshow at least

The older battles in One piece tended to be about figuring out the weakness of the enemy, example, the first War Lord Luffy went up against, he was almost unstoppable until Luffy figured out his weakness and fully expoited it to defeat him, it was after Water 7 arc that the battles became about strength mostly to defeat one's enemies but then the stakes started rising, first getting Robin back, then the crew's shadows, then it was their defeat on the groves and Luffy going off to try and save his brother which was another defeat and a humilating one for Luffy that broke him for a time, thus giving Luffy & Co reason to train and become stronger to face the New World challanges!

Well in early one piece the enemies have some weakness to exploit but in modern one piece the enemies are so op that you need more brute force than strategy no all of them are like this mostly only the one that luffy fights but it still fun to watch

@@eagless7778 Yeah, but in most fights Luffy figures out the weakness and then it's just brute force till he is beaten. In this fight Luffy outsmarting Fox is the way he beats him.

@@eagless7778- no their is still strategy in the fights like always Luffy pays attention any little details that his enemies show and he either finds out their weakness or learns a new power. The same apply to the others and it’s mostly been about them using their best skills.

@@SHADOW-id6vw been watching since i was young and tbh thats the point thats what theyve always done each island takes the art style and story telling in a different direction this gives long time viewers something new to get used to and look forward to in the show. even within arcs some scenes feel very different. they even wear different outfits to match the aesthetic. wano has the classic japanese art style vibe but what i enjoy this arc is seeing the powers in the show looking very fluid and better choreography overall and overall better presentation not just looking amazing for important scenes. comparing luffys red hawk in wano to fish man island the new version seems much more intimidating and impactful to me. ive always enjoyed the settings and backgrounds in op but the new animation has been helping those aspects feel more breathed in in some ways despite wano being slightly less imaginative then some other areas

To tell you what did happen, essentially they had the first challenge where Chopper got taken and then they won him back in the second and then the third is when this fight happened

How many episodes were their in the anime for this arc?

If my information is correct they added in a bunch of stuff to this arc to make it last longer, meaning this arc was a weird mix of filler and canon, something tell me if they dialed that back a lot it wouldn't have been as hated

Mainly cause Foxy's devil fruit,while not as destructive,is much more annoying to fight against. + He hit Luffy where Bro is at his weakest,smarts and intelligence. He forced Luffy to actually think of a counter to stop him. 1 of the few Enemies Luffy couldn't just brute force through.

@@hyena234thekids7 True, and to be fair to Enel, he had lived the past however many years since he had gotten his fruit as pretty much an untouchable god who didn't need to fear anyone attacking him or hurting him. Even when fighting most of the time until he faced Luffy he treated it as a game where his opponents only lasted as long as he was willing to tolerate their presence. He was able to show some fighting instincts and ability when facing Luffy, but clearly, he was not used to having to face opponents who may very well be a threat to him. Foxy knows full well that there are people who are stronger than he is, so he has made preparations to make up for that difference.

Try luffy had to use a mirror instead of properly surpassing him without gimmicks

While he Luffy physically outmatched him, Foxy took full advantage of his devil fruit, his environment, his traps, tricks, and intelligence. I believe it was mentioned in a later arc that Luffy can be at somewhat of a disadvantage when it comes to powers or abilities that either deal in deception or that are not straightforward.

The anime really stretched this arc thin. It doesn't help that the arc is mostly an inconsequential one. But I really love it. It's one of my favourites.

It’s honestly a very irrelevent arc since you could remove it out of the series and nothing would change. The only time it was actually referenced was when Hancock used her love love beam on Luffy.

Foxy is extremely annoying and not in a funny way, in an actual "annoying to watch" way.

This fight was actually great as heck!.. In it's own way! Had so much fun throughout this whole arc and I love the concept of this Davy Back Fight.

Foxy is actually pretty good at using it, but he's not strong enough to be able to exploit it as much as he should be able to.
