I like to think that Eneru was stronger than a lot of the villains that came after him. Luffy just had some perfect asspull counters for him.

I did actually think Skypiea was a weak arc when I watched it, initially. It felt like it dragged, but now looking back on it, other arcs in One Piece drag even more than Skypiea did. The payoff at the end was also worth it because as a moment, for me, it was the most impactful moment since Nami asked Luffy for help and they pulled up on Arlong. It's up there in the whole series for sure.

I am guessing that people wanting you to skip cannon stuff is because they are more interested in cool fights, more than story stuff

Skypia is great and gets a lot of undeserved hate. Glad you enjoyed it and even though the the non canon arc is next all Op fans recommend it.

Yep, no for me Skypia is better then Alabasta. Most people complain because of Satori, and his fight was drawn out.
