Luffy's laugh, and the colors involved with his power are just so epic... The whole Looney Toons thing he does is totally Luffy. Just being silly and UNBELIEVABLY powerful is the coolest sht in the world of fiction. Luffy has to be one of my all time favorite fictional characters ever made.

Gear 5 reminds me of when Arale from Dr Slump showed up in Dragon Ball super. Vegeta literally couldn't beat her because she was a Gag Manga character, and thus immune to pretty much all damage and ridiculously strong. Because it's funny.

A lot of those people don't hate Gear 5 specifically, they hate the way it was animated. Take this, for example. They re-used half an episode of animation just for Luffy fucking around before resuming his fight. And right before Kaido was snatched up, he was drawn with freaking CGI and it looked terrible. Then later on he looked like a damn oil painting with no actual outlines. They fumbled the reveal of Gear 5 and the ensuing battle by trying to do something different. Later in the fight where they get completely different artists on board and it starts to creep towards THAT episode of Naruto (we all know the one) it just leaves a sour note for a lot of fans.

@westy1637 I'm not really caught up on op at all I think I stopped watching around ep 640 or so but seeing this, at least without much context, It just seems weirdly out of place like I'd never have guessed this was one piece if it wasn't for Luffy's voice. the best explination i've encountered to explain Gear 5 is luffy breaking the general law's of physics in anime (which are more grounded in reality) to obtain freedom and fluid rubber ball that you see in the original cartoons from american tv Oda stated his inspiration for gear 5 was Tom and Jerry as well.

I loved your reactions, because while watching luffy getting a gear 5 youre supposed to laugh and smile. Lots of people are hating the animation and luffy´s actions during fight, because it looks like a Tom and Jerry or Looney Toons. Even trought Oda made this fight to look like this because he wants to make people smile and laugh, which is why he doesnt like when characters die, he doesnt want every arc to end with sadness because of someone´s death instead he wants to write about partying after a winning the fight. Which is why is this fight so silly and goofy and it just made me happy to see that you were laughing to this like Oda wanted.

I liked how back in Sabaody they didn't party or get away scott free they got bodied by Kizaru and the Pacifistas. How in Impel Down or Marineford Luffy failed his goal twice and had us actually wondering if he was even ready for the New World or what his reaction would be to Ace dying since he always managed to accomplish his goal despite it looking impossible at first.

I subbed and love your energy. that said... Orange shirt, stop spoiling everything live and yelling long conversation over everyone else's reactions. Live in the moment, like Joyboy does. You went on about Naruto and the manga last year and stuff that can wait til everyone isn't cheering and jumping around, because you kept pulling the guys out of the episode during their first watch to hear you talk instead. That's fine normally, but not for a KZfaq reaction video. I get it, I've been a fan since 2000 when no dubs OR subs existed. I HAD to learn fluent Japanese as a teen just to watch this show. My daughter's name is Nami and my son is Ace, for real, and they're both redheads, no joke. It's been the longest commitment of my life, and I laughed and cried and jumped up and down when I watched this episode. Hell, I screamed so much and jumped on my couch until I woke up my children who knew that only Gear 5 could cause that. But I'd never spoil it for others. anyway... who can't love a fun group of energetic people who freaking LOVE One Piece? Loving One Piece is literally my standard measuring stick level for Pure Awesomeness in a person's soul. It's the thing that tipped me into marrying my husband (I'm a girl, btw). So I'm here for you guys.
