Maybe they were worried about newer fans mistaking this for a 4th entry, but it’s still odd they’d drop the “Dark Moon” subtitle altogether.

was only called 'dark moon' in the states, clearly they preferred the European simpler title

It was likely done so that the name is consistent for all regions; the game was only called Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon in North America.

The Evershade Valley ghosts are supposed to have visible pupils, but the destruction of the Dark Moon caused their pupils to vanish.

I am very happy that this game is on Switch now, all you naysayers out there really need to give it another chance in this post LM3 time, the mission structure does make it a bad game, it’s what makes it stand out on its own merits as a worthy successor to the original. That said, I’m not okay with this new E Gadd model. He looks great in the opening cutscene, but in the Bunker he looks like his mouth is frozen in a perpetual grin regardless of the topic of conversation, and that’s distracting. In the original his mouth was way smaller, allowing his expressions to be more ambiguous and therefore not work against the limited animations he had to work with.
